After a long discussion and debate the Russian side capitulated and Mr. Lavrov offered the following treaty to the USA conserning the future of Alaska

Treaty of Vladivostok

Alaska

1. Russia is to return Alaska to the United States of America
2. United States of America will pay 10 eco points to Russia
3. United States of America is prohibited from stationing troops in Alaska
4. Russia shall maintain two military bases in Alaska with a total contingent not to exceed 200,000 troops
5. Unites States of America is prohibited from infringing upon the rights of Russian companies currently in Alaska
6. Unites States of America is to remove all restrictions on operation of Russian Companies within the United States of America
7. United States of America is to maintain a policy of non-involvement in the Middle Eastern Affairs

Military

1. Military Restrictions on the United States of America are lifted, with three exceptions:
A. United States of America is prohibited from having missiles with a range over 2,000 km
B. United States of America is prohibited from having weapons of mass destruction or any weapons of mass destruction programs
C. United States of America is prohibited from deploying any weapons outside Earth

We would agree, but the C of the restrictions limits our options in this changing world, where space has become a place of exploration. We do not like being unprepared. We will talk on this a bit...

Dare I mention that nobody has really experimented with Guns and Nukes and Bombs and junk in Space yet? Hmm, I guess I better start thinking about what might happen . . .

OOC: Ah ah, but I know for a fact some interesting weapons are already hidden in space...I don't want to be left behind...

OOC:Goober what's the status with the update?

i dun think the stats have been updated silver.

I have started the Update, and am plunking away after work. Keep in mind I am usually tired after work, and lazier then usual. I should be able to get a lot done tonight as I listen to local election results. Go Green!

Anyway, I had a great chance to do it last Friday, when I had the day off, but getting not enough orders killed that. It will be done by Thursday at the latest.

Next time update without orders ;)

I disagree take into account exams in 4 weeks and timezones.

Orders take 10 minutes out of your time if you don't write an entire novel from it. Make them brief and concise.

Exactly. (AErgh ten ten)

Press Conference
Opening statement by Commerce Minister Marcelo B. Fernan

“The Economy of The Philippines is in a desperate state, many of the former presidents goals, like an inter-island highway system were put on hold for the Muslim insurrection. Now with the end of that we must move forward towards progress. As such I wish to put forth a 4 year plan to build a massive bridge connecting Luzon and Mindanao. This bridge system will give a massive burst in our economy. The ease of transportation will mean the end of expensive ferries. This will revolutionize our economy and propel it to the new world. We have one of the weakest economies in Asia. I for one will not let that stand.”

“Luzon Times, some say that this cost of this system will not be worth the high cost”

“Although it is clear that this will cost a massive amount of money, in the long term, like 3 or so years, it will more than pay off for the cost for construction.”

“Cebu Journal, the current rise in instability in the south due to the recent anti-Muslim acts that attempted to pass the Congress.”

“I am not prepared to answer questions about national security. But the problem will be taken care of shortly.”

“Manila Times, Can you give us a rough estimate of the cost of this project”

“About 5 billion dollars (16 ecos), we though plan to combine it with other projects which will total about 6.5 billion dollars (24 ecos)”

Short Story about Marcelo B. Fernan
Born into a wealthy family in Cebu. He was very scholarly and went to Yale University to study business. His father got him a position as a President of one of Manila Co. daughter corporations, AutoDrive Inc. a company which made cars. The company rose to be one of the leading automobile manufactures and during President Persons 1st term was the leading producer of T-64 and the Su-24. He was appointed to Commerce Minister when Franklin Person was elected for his 2nd term.

Ok I need things cleared up, why do a lot of people want war with the Philippines or are embargoing them?

OOC: Good old #1 person had his senate adopt a resolution to declare war on Pakistan. Then russia, Israel, me and tons of other countries critizied them as in embargoes and etc and he refused to sign the resolution the "senate proposed."

Environmentalists should all burn in hell. I hope you don't take that against me.
Heh

Actually, I am anti-Envorinmentalist, if that makes sense. I think all those whiny Protestors who whine and protest everytime a company tries to make a bit of money by chopping down trees, or mining our resources should be summarily jailed, and fined. I am voting Green because they are not advocating for more Environmental stuff, our province already has loads of pro-Environmental Legislation from the previous Socialist Governments, I am voting Green because they are the only party who I don't disagree with. And they might win a seat . . .
