ooc I barely have elections. My government is supreme :)

Haha
To be honest, I find erec- I mean election stories really boring if repeated to often.

Then again, I'm having difficulty writing nice stories for this NES too. Most of them are project descriptions and engineering documents - which in itself isn't bad.

For cool fiction stuff, go check out ITNES1 and stNNES7. Stormy also writes wicked fiction stories when he gets down to it - as opposed to boring Duma sessions.
Heheh

OOC - Just to remind you #1, you have promised Mindanaoans (sp?) their Independence. Going back on it now shall be a bit . . . bloody, shall we say?

And about PMs, sorry guys, I have just been to bloody busy in these past couple days to keep up. I will do my best tonight, but, well *sigh* real life is smacking me in the face with the not-so-proverbial wet fish. Reality sucks.

*notes the philippino governments breaking a promise*

Russia Re-Shuffles Government

After the collapse of the fragile government of Mikhail Khodorkovsky Moscow underwent a short period of uncertainty. After two failed attempts the Duma finally confirmned a new Prime Minister - Viktor Stepanovich Chernomyrdin.

Prime Minister - Viktor Stepanovich Chernomyrdin
Minister of Foreign Affairs - Andrey Vladimirovich Kozyrev
Minister of Defence - Igor Dmitriyevich Sergeyev
Minister of Internal Affairs - Viktor Fyodorvich Yerin
Minister of Finance - Yegor Timurovich Gaidar
KGB Director - Mikhail Ivanovich Barsukov

The government was confirmned by a vote of 189 to 130 with 131 abstentions.

This move indicates a definite shift in the Russian Government's policies. Unlike the very liberal-minded Mr. Khodorkovsky Mr. Chernomyrdin is a hardliner in all respects. He voted against sceded Alaska to the USA and against raising restrictions on the USA. He is expected to take a harder stand with all foreign countries, and above all the UIS.

Someone needs to chronicle how many times the RUssian government has changed.

Even more than the French at this rate... hehe

I'm going to have to quit this NES... :(

Again. Damn.

Ok, sorry to see you go, Cap.

I will be attempting to Update this over the next 2 days, however, in those 2 days, I also have a good 5 hours of chores, 6 hours of doing stuff with friends, and various meetings and appointments, so don't hold your breath.

Well, considering most democracies have new governments every 4 years, Russia is no exception. And it is a rather common practice in a number of countries to dismiss the PM when things go wrong and to apoint a new one. Same in Russia.

Orders will come as soon as Goober replies to that one question in that one PM, he knows what Im talking about

That's fascinating.
It does bring up the question on how well government can be run in that manner.

I was referring more towards Cabinet as opposed to Parliament to be exact. Do you change your Executive Body every 4 years?

EDIT: Not meant to be insolent. Honest curiosity.

OOC-
How so? We will continue on our agreement, and not hinder them in there independance. Although once they try on instituting a Islamic goverment the Christians will be up in arms and destabilize the area so much that the goverment will be crawling back for my assistance.

OOC: in such an event its more likely that they will ask their "islamic brothers" of the UIS for assistance

From the AF
To the USA

Your Placement of Troops in Angola, Gabon, Rwanda and Congo is a breach of our sovereignty; unless those troops are immediately withdrawn you can consider us in a state of war.

From the AF
To Russia

The African Federation is worried about this latest change in government and its possible consequences to Russian foreign policy, is Russia willing to continue the cooperation with the African federation as agreed? If not we hope you will be breaking camps and peacefully withdrawing from our territories with all due haste.

EDIT:  1300th Post

The Russian Federation will not change its policy conserning the African Federation. The agreement that has been signed between our nations will be honoured and the Russian Federation will protect the AF from any foreign attack.

OOC - For the record, many NPC nations have troops in your "Northern Territories" as well, Feanor.

This thread is now old. I have created the third thread for this NES Here. Reason being that this thread was getting too long, and that affects Forum speed and such. This thread will be closed, please post in the new thread from now on.
