Good but Not Famous bands

Rehab
Long Beach Dub Allstars

What kind of music?

They are extremely known here, but I doubt they are as known outside Scandinavia. Kent - a very good Swedish band (at least all albums but the last). Genre: Rock/Pop

I'm pretty much looking for rock are jazz and jazz/fusion. But if you recommend something highly enough, and I respect your opinion, I might try it out.

Get anything by The Wipers.

Also I highly recommend the album 'Disco Volante' by Mr. Bungle. It's got jazz, mambo, metal, Italian drama, ambient, techno, tribal, 50's, etc. You should be able to get it at any store as it is on the Warner Bros. catalogue. If you like this album then get 'California' by the same band. That is the strangest album I've yet to hear.

King Crimson
Traffic

Both are late 60's and early 70's rock groups. Traffic was led by Steve Winwood, who had some solo succes, and wrote some truly excellent music. King Crimson isn't known by many who are not musicians themselves, but wrote some of the most complex and varied music I have ever heard.

Try Nils Petter Molvaer (http://www.nils-petter-molvaer.com/ )
I am actually not sure of his international status
genre is jazz, more in the line of fusion, but perhaps too much electronics in use.

A musthave for trying Nils Petter Molvaer is the album Khmer.

well, if you are into fusion, I expect you to have listened much to Miles already...and he is famous too, so I dont need to recommend him ;)

Oh comon, everybody knows about the dub all-stars. The former members of sublime.

Really?! I only know of one other person in my area that has ever heard of them, and that is the guy that introduced me to them.
