Google Civilization

Thanks everyone for the help, now I have to find the Civ I and II wonders in case I need to add more.

Which wonder are you talking about?

If I'm not mistaken, in Civ 1 there were 21. Can't remember how many they were in Civ 2.

Civ 1 wonders:
Antiquity:
Colossus of Rhodes
Great Library of Alexandria
Great Wall of China
Hanging Gardens of Babylon
The Lighthouse of Alexandria
The Oracle of Delphius
The Pyramids of Giza
Middle Ages:
Copernicus's Observatory
Darwin's Voyage
Isaac Newton's College
J.S. Bach's Cathedral
Magellan's Expedition
Michaelangelo's Chapel in Rome
Shakespeare's Theatre
Industrial Age:
Apollo Program
Cure for Cancer
Hoover Dam
Manhattan Project
SETI Program
Women's Suffrage
United Nations in New York

All of them, Zenon_pt, but judging by the list there, I think I've covered them all now. So now the capitals, wonders and expansions are complete, just the brief history for each left. I'll put up some shots of the best views next month when my net's not slow. Any other suggestions are appreciated.

Or have Alexander(Macedonian) as a Greek or Catherine(Prussian/German) as a Russian or Stalin(Soviet/Georgian) as a Russian etc?

The first of these is quite forgivable. The other two are also not a huge problem. Alexandros was hegemon of the koinon Korinthon (grammar?), and the other two were able leaders of a Russian state in its time of greatness.

Soviet Union is not equivalent to Russia
those are almost as unforgivable as pronouncing Prussia as Persia

Why?

And apparently we're going to get a side of equatism to accompany the unfounded facts entree.

In an epic game spanning from 4000 BC to 2000 AD, they are at some time.

...It should also be noted that Zimbabwe was not Zulu...

Yea, when I first found Zimbabwe on Google Earth, I kinda  a bit, made no real sence to have a city with no real connection with the civilisation as the capital. I'm almost tempted to reset it back to Ulundi, but that just wouldn't be right for a Civ layer.

Great Zimbabwe was proposed as a wonder, instead of a city. Maybe you could fake it.

As being all Bantu-speakers, I think Zimbabwe fits as a Zulu possession. Condider that sub-Saharan Africa is largely Bantu, then it's not such a stretch of the imagination.

As my sig says, I'm working on the wonder history briefs, and it's taking a long while. However, I managed to forget about ten-twelve wonders when I first tried to plot them, including the Religious wonders, which I managed to simply stir clear. Now going through the wonder to add histories and finding some missing, I research, using Wikipedia as a help, I found all the remaining wonders from Civ 4, and have marked the RWs in different symbols like the rest.
I have a while yet to go, but I also need to say that I won't be on for a couple of days, mum's returned from hospital in a very tired state, so I'll be tending to her for the time. I may swing by for a bit tomorrow, but for now, see ya'll on Thursday. :p

Thanks Jeelen, I can rest up today, just the anesthetic to wear off on her, she'll be fine now. :D
Back to GoogleCiv! :goodjob:

[EDIT] As I promised last time, I'd add some great shots I've managed to put in the GoogleCiv layer, this was actually about a week before now, but all the same. Enjoy!

Capitals - Carthage I did like that to see the ancient harbour as well.

Wonders - the Pyramids, one of Egypt's great wonders.

Expansion - Mongol Expansion, I had no idea how large it was until I researched it for GoogleCiv.

*Easter Egg* GoogleCol - the New World, currently all four founding colonies of the European powers. I plan to find the native capitals as well.

All in the name of fandom.

Not bad... Question: Are you adding to Google Map that intel or you need to add some kind of software to see it?

Thanks everyone, I'll do my best not to disappoint.

You might want to change the first English colony to Roanoke. ;)

I suspect that the reason why it's not the first in Colonization is because it never was a permanent colony by the time Jamestown was established, but I'll consider it. Mind you, I haven't changed Zimbabwe or the Zulu expansion, at least not until I look at some Bantu history sites, simply to maintain the 'Civ' aspect.

@Zenon_pt; No no, it's simply placing plots, polygons and descriptions on the map, purely me adding to it.
