I was wondering if Google is the best search engine for finding things specifically posted in Blogs. Anyone know if there is any better one for that particular part of the web?

(edit: Some mod please move this to the computer forum...)

You mean the http://www.google.com search? There is a google blog search too. Try it with the advanced search also.

Yes, thank you for that, although it seems to be the same (?) option as searching from google.com and selecting "blogs". I did that, and got minimal results (of course it might be that the object i am searching for is obscure in blogs anyway) ;)

I have no idea what you're looking for but there's a Usenet search in Google Groups that can bring up interesting results. I mean interesting for what I search for. But you might find stuff about what you're looking for.

Thanks :) Just tried it, but unfortunately i only got around 50 results, and i think i have already come across them in the regular google search. I am searching for references of my work btw, so yeah, not that many around (ranging from around 1000 to around 7000 results in regular google).

If you're looking for technical papers, try Google scholar, though a lot of results it gives are not free unless you belong to a university or large public library, or are just book citations.

It's great for research papers though.
