Got A Favourite Game?

counterstrike best game ever you work in a team of humans
you are terrorist or ct.ypu have objectives like blow up something
if you are a terrorist or defuse the bomb if you are a counter terorist
or saving hostages
or you can win a round by killing the whole other team.its a game with much realism and you will be a addict if you play it

Diplomacy!

Which can be played on a board Face to Face, via E-Mail, or via a judge. It also can be played on the PC, but the game lacks any attempt from the AI to win.

There are several Diplomacy games here. Check them out, and check out this great game, that uses NO luck, simutaneous moves, and loads of strategy. And of course Diplomacy. If you lose in Diplomacy, it's your own damn fault!!! Or maybe your neighbors.:D

I encourage EVERYONE to check this game out!

A few links to sites that give more info about Diplomacy!

With more people, perhaps another game can spring up here at CivFan!

Err, these are freeware & shareware games, so probably you don't know these:

- Wings (the one & only cave-flying game, MP is grreeeeaat)
- The UnReal World (RPG/Rogue, much more realistical than the others, and REAL graphics :D)
- Arena 5.01 (Well... it's complicated game. Gladiator managering with myth characters)
- Liero & Molez (Great freeware hotseat worm-games!)
- The Ultimate TK3. (Errr, another hotseat game, sort of real-time Jagged Alliance)
- Masochistical Hockey Manager 2000 (akaMHM2000, worlds best - and only Ice hockey manager game)

Tactical Ops!

Its similar to couter strike but its a mod for Ureal tournament that will be released as a separate game soon.

I like Deus Ex. It has to be one of my all time favourite first perosn shooters. Nice branching storyline.

I also like Birth of the Federation. Even though the AI sucks it is really fun to play.

I have been playing a lot of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty recently. It is good fun collecting all the dog tags (Even though I hate and I mean HATE Raiden. )

XCom UFO Defense, Master of Magic, Classic games I still play and for a shooter Outlaws

FPS:
Jedi Knight 2: Jefi Outcast - great saber fights!
Tact Ops - Great ballistics and realistic fire fights...except for the jumping (can't jump very high but you can actually move faster than straight running by jumping forward over and over again).

RTS:
StarCraft/BroodWar - Doesn't get any better than this

TBS:
Civ3 - even with all its problems.

CRPG:
Don't really have one. Waiting for Never Winter Nights

P&PRPG:
Dungeons & Dragons 3rd Edition - An improvement on a winning formula.

Civ3 - even with all its problems.
Apart from Civ (I want to remove the obvious bias)
Can you not read??

Personally if I had to make a list of my top 5 games of all-time on any platform (including civ - for this list anyway) then it would go something like this:-
  1. Super Mario World
  2. Goldeneye
  3. Colonization
  4. Civilisation II
  5. The Sims
    [/list=1]
    How about you?

Sorry Palehorse, I know I should have left it for you, but I just couldn't resist. Forgive me.

Shooter: Jedi Knight. (Haven't gotten Outcast yet)

RTS: Galactic Battlegrounds (It is just Age of Kings with Star Wars stuff, but fun none-the-less.

TBS: Civ3 (Just kidding, its Mast of Orion 2) ;)

RPG: Baldur's gate and all its sequels. Tied with Fallout 1 and 2

Arcade: Galaga and Gauntlet II

Sports: Haven't played one since L. Bird and J. Erving duked it out on the old C-64.

Myst type game: Zork Trilogy (Pictures ruined the genre IMHO)

Driving: None. (I just don't get the point. I wasn't even that into these games when I was <16)

Flying combat: The Wing Commander Series (good gameplay and a good story to go with it. In the later ones you get Biff from Back to the Future as Maniac. Gotta love that).

Maxis Game: The Sims (I buy these damn games because they look interesting, play them for a while and then kick myself because I knew there wouldn't be a way to win and I bought it anyway. Still this is an original, well thought out game).

Doooaaahhh!!!!

I looked right past your list heading. Where is the egg on face smilie?

"Idiot proof systems just help nature create better idiots"

I had a perfect day going. Plenty of witty and intelligent posts. No major errors, no offensive gaffs, everything flowing smoothly. I am about to sign off and I take one last look at other games. Damn Damn Damn Damn! Can I use the, "We all make mistakes" defense, or am I stuck with, "I'm only human." ?

Ok, for a non gamer I'd say -

PS1 - Time Crisis
Dreamcast - Samba de Amigo
Dreamcast - Craxy Taxi 2
PC - Project IGI
PC - Worms World Party

It would completely different list for a gamer though.

Rock 'n' Roll Racing - on Super Nintendo, but this game is so damn rare and hard to get that....well yeah...

Super Mario 64 - On N64, addictive fun!

Donkey Kong 64 - Same as SM64

Doom - Classic shooter

Goldeneye - Revolutioniser of shooters

Perfect Dark - On N64, Goldeneye's little brother, a bit more work went into this one, runs pretty slow on the poor old N64 though

So if I would have put a disclaimer I would have been free of ridicule?

I would also have to throw Jepardy in my list also as it is a favored game of many non-gamers and could lead as a bridging game ot other games. Kind of like Pot is accused of being to harder drugs. :D

Disclaimer: Anything that I look like I messed up on I meant to. Know I am safe from the "no-civ nazi".

Apart from Civ1 I like racing sims like Need for speed or GP2 and also classic games like Tetris, Break out and Asteroids.
Anyone played DX-ball? It's a free remake of Break out and quite addictive (at least for me....)

In all my many years of playing computer games, I have never played a more playable game than Sensible World of Soccer. Sure, other games have provoked more thought at the tactical twists or whatever, or more awe at the wondrous graphics, but this was just so much fun to pick up and play that I'm still awaiting a more playable game. It's not even the best football game I've played - ISS Pro on the PS2 is far better, but you could just dive into it and lose hours or play for half an hour and thoroughly enjoy it. :goodjob:
