Challenger, HOF Mod, going for conquest.
Alphabet Slingshot
I settled next to the river in 4000BC. With Agriculture and Mining as our starting techs, I realized that I could improve 4 great tiles without researching any worker techs. So I skipped the worker techs and headed straight for the Oracle.
Build order: Worker, Warrior, Oracle
Research Path: Myticism -> Meditation -> Priesthood -> Writing
I completed the Alphabet slingshot in 2260BC. My worker had to skip 5 turns after improving the corn and hills, but once I got Alphabet he had more improvements than he could complete alone. So I built a second worker before my first settler.

Civil Service Slingshot
60 turns passed. The Chinese empire expanded to five cities. I founded and converted to Confucianism, then started research on Civil Service.
I traded for the AI techs as they became available. Since I was going to kill everyone, I didn't care about getting WFYABTA later in the game. The one tech I didn't trade for was Masonry, to keep the Monotheism branch of the tech tree hidden from a great prophet.
In 715 BC I popped a great prophet and lightbulbed Civil Service.

The Buildup
I built the Great Lighthouse and added a sixth city in the BC years. But most of my effort was spent hacking away at jungle. Finally I had enough workers, and built up my military for an invasion of Egypt.
In 65 AD I had enough units for a surgical strike against Egypt's horses and iron. Once they were disconnected I slowly wore down Hatshepsut's archers with swordmen and catapults. But I had most of my economy focused on the beeline to Military Tradition.

I built the Colossus in 365 AD.
At the 500AD cutoff date I had Education, Gunpowder, Music, and was finishing Philosophy. That left only Nationalism and Liberalism until the cav rush started.
The Egyptian war was proceeding slowly but successfully, with almost no losses or war weariness.
