GOTM 158

I studied the events.txt completely. It does not take a long time. I wish I had done it before getting started but since I have only played to Feb 1915 it is still useful. Highlights:
1. If anyone attacks an ocean liner, they lose 1000g. It actually happened to me. I wonder what happens if you have less than 1000 to begin with.

2. Loss of major cities carries a -4000g penalty. I wondered why the allies were so poor all of a sudden. It must have been due to loss of Paris.

3. Loss of major Russian cities cause the rise of bolshevism and appearance of barbarian bolsheviks. I personally have not seen this one yet.

4. Killing of certain allied units cause the allies to get the tech to make Anzac and Canadian troops.

5. Dublin gives rise to Irish barbarians which make take the city. Already forgot what caused this.

6. You cannot research the techs needed for fighter planes. 3 of them will be given to you on turn 11. Allies get theirs two turns later. Everyone gets some form of this on turn 11 or 13.

7. Italians will turn against Kaiser at a certain point in time.

If you have less than 1000g, your gold will probably just be set to 0. I'm pretty sure that is how money events work. I did kill an ocean liner, and got an event message, but didn't notice the loss of 1000 gold. I was surprised that the ocean liner was in landlocked Lyons, and I was doing enough rushbuying and building selling (and had a sufficiently large treasury that I wasn't worried about running out of money quite yet) that the loss didn't register.
