GOTM 5 Results?

What an embarrassing finish for me! The one time I actually compete against others and I get defeated by the AI. The only reason I even had points is the barbarian bonus. Why did I even submit my files? ** kicking myself ** I should have just not turned the game in and played in the next game of the month.

I probably won't play GOTM 6. Kind if busy with things this month including the recent birth of my baby boy. I have also been playing a lot of Starcraft lately.

Maybe see you in GOTM 7

Actually I was hoping that everyone who played the GOTM will send me their results. I mean, if you loose you won't drop in the Global Ranking any more than you'd do otherwise and if it's your first GOTM, you won't even appear there. And if you don't care about the GR, then what's the deal about ending as last one? Someone has to be last!

And it's also important for me to get these savegames, because of the average and so on...

I guess I was sticking to the honor system. It makes me wonder how many people do play the GOTM and not turn it in because they don't like how well they did. I bet there is a lot of that going on. I feel better then that you are happy with me for being honest.

Take it easy.

I resent that rumor about me, that you are spreading <IMG SRC="http://forums.civfanatics.com/ubb/lol.gif" border=0> - I would never do such a thing!!!!!!1 <IMG SRC="http://forums.civfanatics.com/ubb/biggrin.gif" border=0>

But I did spend quite a lot of time playing on my Hall of Fame game that was just uploaded, and that did put me under a sleight pressure concerning the GotM!!!

But no worries mates - I shall continue to play as I always do: Play until I reach 150 (this is a good and high score and more or less what you need to be among the medal takers) in score and then look at the map and my Civ and decide what to do next.

... 10.000+ game...

LOL, I'd planned to do that in GOTM #6 (and before 1 AD, of course

), but had only two little problems... I won't get 200 cities and I didn't finish by 1 AD! Yeah yeah yeah, but seriously.

Well Shadowdale, GOTM 6 is safe from an assault on 150 from me... in fact, I never had (and will not have) that lofty view in this game. I'm about to finish my SS soon, and am racing the year 1900 (AD!) for a landing. Quite pitiful, since I usually consider an 1850's SS an "average" game for my own play. And this game is "only" Emperor.

BTW, great game, Thunderfall!

Quite a "different" play evolution (at least for me).

It is my own observation that contrary to intuition, smaller maps (like these GOTMs) can sometime be a little harder (or at least different) to play... at least if judged by finishing time and score. On a large map, I run wild and free, and the science comes disproportionatly faster for me
