GOTM 54 Results & Congratulations

GOTM 54 resulted in another log-jam at the top of the leaderboard, with early victories and relatively high scores. Only a few hundred points separated the top players, and in terms of game turns, the story was similar.

klarius grabbed first place with a domination victory. The silver went to ignas, who also managed to get the fastest domination award by finishing 6 turns faster than klarius. In third, Niklas also picked-up the fastest conquest award.

Gee, don't know how I could miss this thread for so long, guess I've grown too accustomed to using the CP...

Finally the shield, that leaves only the Cow which I hope to pick up in 55. But I got it on points, seeing how Drazek finished on the same turn. Whew. The Bronze medal is a nice bonus.

Well I've played both Persia and India on the predator level. I think that it is actually an advantage to do so when the equaliser is faster AI development and the level is low.

Edit - and congrats to the winners. Especially Klarius who is utterly dominant at the moment. Niklas I'll save your congratulations for Persia and what I'm sure will be the next statue.

And tR1cKy, I'll be joining the red crew from now on. But you can't really blame me when you see Drazek playing open and getting such results, now can you?

Well, actually I have been a quite long Predator player since that class was introduced. But then I always scored 2nd or 3rd or something so I switched back to Open to finally be able to win Gold. So after all these years I got that Gold, and I switched back to Predator in last month's GOTM. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to finish it, it took me ages to play it up to around 1200BCE, when English attacked me in 2600 or so. Anyways, I'll play Predator from this on, but I'm also playing EverQuest in hard core raiding guild and it takes almost all my playing time so I don't know when I can continue playing Civ3.

I bought Civ4 in November last year, but still haven't even installed it.

This appears to apply in both directions. It seems that there is an email black hole between the staff and you, so as tR1cKy suggests, I recommend that you use PM to contact Ainwood via the forum site.
