We started with a new World map made by Andu Indorin. Your civ is the
Aborigines, and you start on one of the islands in southeast Asia. The
other civs are renamed and scattered around the world. Note that their city
names do not correspond to where they historically started. Just to be
nice, there is a 4-special spot somewhere on your island, or a few grassy
locations with nearby specials for some close-knit cities.

Then we got creative. Since you are the Aborigines, the other civs were
given a head start. It is now 2000BC, and each of them has a couple of
cities and some units out. Since the Barbarians are on the move too, we
gave you a vet Warrior. Oh, and just for fun we experimented with the tech
research function. Research has been set to require 50% more beakers. We
don't have much experience with this, so we'll just have to see how it goes.
Enjoy.

I guess it's clear that this will be a "direct tech" game.

If you don't like "Berlin" as the capitol of your Aborigine, here are some town names from Australia that sound better to me: Wangaratta, Wollongong, Narooma, Buckambool, Tooraweenah, Kalabity, Mallacoota, Goolagong.

Good point. Yes, it is a scenario so it should be.

I thought the map is going to be the same as the one we used in GOTMs 50 and 60. But it is not, the dimensions are different though the overall size is only slightly so.

My only strategy thought is that the extra research cost is less of a problem for a conquest strategy than a space ship one.

I would like to suggest to those who are interested to keep and post a status of their game to do so at -1000, -500, 1, 500, 1000, 1500, 1750, 1800, 1850, and then every 25 turns.

I'm already beyond 1 AD and do not have the saves of -1000 and -500. So that part will miss in my log. The other years I will make te statusreport.

Where did you get the names for the other AI's? (Eldraken, Forentian, Charuvian, Gualathan, Batruscan and one other)

I was wondering the same thing! Since there is one each for ABCDEFG, I'm guessing they were made up out of the blue.
