The island paradise

In December, our ‚Game of the Month‘, the joint competition of civforum.de and civfanatics.com, takes you to a tropical island world south of Florida. As always, the game is played with our German community modification TAC, The Authentic Colonization. This time you’ll lead the Spaniards.

Senor, your king at home gave you an order for your journey to the New World: Send him one galleon fully loaded with silver and another one stuffed with rum! Just before your departure, a map is thrusted into your hand: South of the already claimed Florida by your fellow countrymen, you shall look for a paradisiac island world, full of exotic beauty, bright blue water, gleaming, golden sand beaches and fishing villages, where peaceful natives happily wait to welcome strangers.
However, as you arrive, you only shake your head in astonishment. Sparse scrubland covers most of the few tiny islands, no sight of silver deposits and even sugar cane – from which you want to distill the rum - seems to hide from your eyes. Only the indigenes are showing themselves: wild warriors, welcoming you with a fake smile.
Your men begin to grumble shortly after the arrival, because there is no deer to hunt, they have to throw out their fishing nets to fill their stomachs. Moreover, you note, that your king seems to not trust you completely, by sending out a second expedition, competing against you.
Which group of Conquistadors will be the first to fill up the two galleons with silver and rum? How long will it take them? And will you succeed in training your men to be expert fishermen?
Show that you are up to the task in the Game of the Month December!
Eventually, let me give you a last advise: Silver can be digged, rum distilled, but don’t forget that you can buy them in Europe, too!

Now then, Senor: ¡Buena suerte!

Your tasks:

• Found a city on one of the 1-tile-islands with 8 professional fishermen in it doing their job.
• Send one galleon fully loaded with silver and another one stuffed with rum to the European harbor.

Save your game at the end oft he round, in which you accomplish those goals. The one who needed the fewest turns, will be announced as winner of the month.

The game is played as usual with our German community modification TAC 2.03_final ("The Authentic Colonization").
This game of the month ends on November, 30th.
