3750 BC – Athens: warrior=>warrior. Worker roads. Send warrior #1 north towards mountain.
3700 BC – Warrior to mountain, see GH. Grrr. Lux to 20%.
3650 BC – avoid the GH for now. Continue scouting N. Worker moves to 2nd cow.
3550 BC – Athens: warrior=>worker. 1st warrior find furs, 2nd warrior scouts E.
3500 BC – Culture expands, Lux to 30%.
3450 BC – meet Indian warrior. Pull warrior #2 back to cover Athens. I will get there a turn before the Indian warrior. India won’t give up CB for anything.
3400 BC – worker builds, start Colossus as a prebuild for a granary. Worker #2 moves to BG to make a road to grapes.
3300 BC – India has BW and both workers are in their capital – I guess they’re having barb problems.
3200 BC – Warrior finds 2nd GH further away. I think I’ll take this one.

3150 BC – pick up pottery, Writing in 40t. Swap Colossus to Granary, due in 6t.
3100 BC – Warrior #1 grabs GH – and gets the preordered 3 barbs.
IBT – Warrior #1 fends off a barb attack. Other two barbs scatter.
3050 BC – Warrior #1 moves to mountain away from barbs to fort & heal.
I make a trading gambit that might make or break my game. I give India pottery, 6gpt & 1gp for both of their workers. I’ve got science down to 10% on writing due in 38t. I am counting on growth to put me in the green soon. 6gpt is all I have. Well that and 2 slave workers.
IBT – one barb goes south towards India. Suckers! The other forts. Good.

2630 BC – build 2nd city – and pop GH. It is deserted, which is probably the best I could hope for. Start warrior.

2470 BC – found city #3. Start Warrior. See Barb camp.
2350 BC – Persia builds the Colossus. Athens builds a worker by mistake. Start Settler.
2190 BC – 4th city down by furs.
2030 BC – Give Rome 11gpt & 1gp for Writing. Start Phil at 80%
1990 BC – Corinth is going to be sacked – Trade China 80gp for WC. Drat – see that Rome is the only one with Iron. If only I could get that I could catch up in techs. Darn.

1830 BC – Try something – put Athens on wealth for 1 turn.
1790 BC – Swap Athens to a warrior, should be due in 1t and then a settler in 3t. Should be able to alternate every 4 t for 1 warrior/1settler. A new barb horse has shown up.
1750 BC – plan works! Should get my 1 warrior/1 settler every 4 turns.
1700 BC – City #6.
1650 BC – a 2/2 barb horse kills a 3/3 hoplite fortified in a city. They attack across a river. They score a flawless victory. Grrr!! Knossos is sacked for 6gp.
1625 BC – City #7.
1525 BC – pull Phil first amongst my contacts, but not first in the world. Oh well. We’ll do it the hard way.
Trade: India is behind, only have Masonry, TW & CB. So I don’t want those in a trade with Rome or China. Decide China is the best. Get IW & 115gp for Phil. Pick up TW & CB for Phil & 10gp from India. India then gives me HBR & 16gp for IW. Give Rome Phil for Masonry & 15gp.
Total IW, TW, CB, HBR, Masonry & 136gp for Phil.
Crank research up to 80% and go for Lit in 14t @ -13gpt.
IBT – barb kills garrison warrior in Corinth and sacks the city, kills 1 pop. Barbs are a real pain in the butt.
1500 BC – connect furs. Lux to 0%, science to 90%, lit in 11t @ -10gpt.

1375 BC – lose a worker to a surprise attack by a barb horse out of the shadows. Grrr.
1350 BC – City #9
1325 BC – let barbs sack Mycenian for 10gp to protect a settler on the move. Also sacrifice a warrior to protect another moving settler.
1300 BC – City #10
IBT – lose a granary build to a barb, lose 5 turns of shields. Grr!
1250 BC – GRRRRR!! For the second time I lose a hoplite to a 2/2 barb horse – flawlessly! Knossos loses a pop. Mycenian is sacked again for 11gp.
1225 BC – I get to Lit first. Everyone’s got the same stuff. CoL, Myst, MM. India gives the best deal – Myst, CoL & 11gp. Lit & 130gp gets me MM from China. I get 115gp back from Rome for Lit. Not the best round of trades, but picked up CoL, Myst, MM for Lit & 4gp. Start Republic at max: 90%, due in 28t @ -3gpt.

750 BC – Pick up Republic, Revolt, 5t anarchy. Not too bad. Rome has already traded Republic. Darn. China doesn’t have it – they get it for Poly, WM & 2gp.

350 BC – Give India a DOW with a nice bow on it. My advisory says we have an average military vs. India. Whatever.

That consolidates my warfront. Now all units can move down into central India and take the silks. After that we can have peace.
