GOTM123 - First spoiler, Aztecs, the Ancient Age

OK, the game's not quite done ... I'm posting 2 spoilers for GOTM123. Please provide your early game Ancient Age information. You had plenty of food nearby, coastal access, and your landmass to yourself. Any problems getting your empire started? How did AI contacts and interactions go? Plans and progress going into the Middle Ages.

ok, that is a late 1st spoiler... i fear i cannot remember much of this game any more now and have not taken notes (did not expect to be able to finish...)

i settled in place and found that we had plenty of food. this ended up in building 3 pop-factories total. my settling pattern had to be a bit strange for this, so i had i think a distance-3-ring and a distance-6-ring plus one in between! (i think with two towns, i might post a picture if i can find the save)

no contact for a long time, only when the eastern neighbour settled on my island, i eventually knew someone else. very soon i declared war, and destroyed 2 or 3 of his towns on my island, so to get a discount on some techs. much of the acquisition of technology went like this in my game.

barbs were a pita, but i think i did not lose anything too important to them. especially the southeast i might have been overly careful to settle though.
