We kind of did away with official government positions quite awhile ago when Innovia only had 4 or 5 regular players. We've nearly doubled that in the last few weeks and so think its a fair time to make sure everyone is having as much fun as they can have (within legal limits of course.)

I'd prefer to leave it wide open and let the first available person play saves but some people prefer, and more importantly contribute more, with little more structure.

I would agree, we still have a constitution (somewhere hidden :p), shall we keep it, or shall we amend it/replace it?

Although I like our current government organisation (or lack thereof), I tend to agree that anarchy is only really effective with very few people, so more structure would probably help getting everyone involved.

I was thinking that we could create positions that work as "communication links" rather than as positions of power, if that makes sense - i.e. the officer will provide the neccesary info to the team who will then make a decision about what to do.

Positions I think we need right now:
-Designated turnplayers (note the plurality - I think we can have more than one who follows the team's decisions and plays the save accordingly; it will also help keeping the within the 24h limit)
-Domestic minister who keeps an eye on the economy, city planning and general development of our civilization
-Ambassadors who not only take care of negotiations, but also keeps an eye on the strength and development of our enemies (we could probably use three here - Loco, Aloha and Piffle-Epsilon, though Aloha might not need an ambassador for much longer...)

I think this would allow the number of positions to vary (from 3 to about 8 actually) according to needs and would provide structure, if we are going for a structured type of government.

I agree a structured government is much better, I know that helped me a lot as a newcomer into the single team DG, it was much easier to know what was going on and what responsibilities belonged to whom.

I am a huge fan of anarchry in a demo game. It is my preferred civic. Let's keep things they way they are. If we were to change civics now I would have to lower my diplomacy rating for Innovia and raise prices in the pub.

I'm perfectly happy being an ordinary citizen who contributes his opinion on matters every now and then when he finds the time. :)

I am happy with being a citizen here, knowing that the other demogame got quite crazy.

I've tried finding our old constitution, but couldn't find it
