It's cool, you had plenty of smilies to indicate you were just kidding. I'm sure he wouldn't mind being skipped if he has other RL stuff to take care of. I didn't get a chance to play tonight, will try play tomorrow if we haven't heard from him and I'm sure he'll be happy to slot his turn from this round in between others somewhere. (and I hope I didn't offend you by suggesting your comments were impolite :-)

Just don't invite me over, leave shortly after I get there, expect me to cook it, serve myself and the other guests, and clean up when I'm done. Basically everything but set it up. :rolleyes:

No biggie, I just have a little list compiled of people who are unreliable in games. Hopefully, I never have to get dirty and dredge up past transgressions when they try to join one of my new ones. :D

So now that that's clear, what time should I come over? ;)
 
Hi team, I'm sorry for not being present the last few days, but my server had a fit. I could log on to the net, but I could never get access to any sites, the window just sat there loading for ever. The outback server are doing maintanence again it seems and something I have to live with. Can't access to cable or fancy stuff where I live.

So don't treat the host any different than other people, just skip/swap as you please :) That's not offensive and the game has to move on, right? Just to make it clear, we play by 24/48, with a bit of leniency.

Nemesis can play on and I can take it after him.

I won't say "I got it" yet, if Cuivienen want it before I can play tomorrow, that's fine.

Disband unnamed catapult - Yikes! Correctly done and remember team, if you want a force sooner or later, don't forget to rename your troops.

We are looking quite good here and the war between the others won't hurt us a bit :)

I leave this to Cuivienen to decide if she wants it before me (different timezone) until tomorrow my time, and will play right away by then. With this save or a new one :)
 
Oh, sorry about the catapult. For some reason I thought that not naming units included catapults. The only thing I had seen mentioned in the first post was settlers, but when I saw that workers hadn't been renamed either that it must be all units without attack or defense.
 
I got it and will play right away.

Pults are military units and we weren't clear on renaming them. But from now we do :)

If we are successful creating regiments we want catapults/cannons etc too.
 
Pre-turn - MM towns to get a few extra gpt, builds are fine, so no changes. Looking good.

I see that Lizzy knows Construction, I speed up Currency to 70% and -10gpt, due in 2 turns.

A couple of settlers are on their way, I let them walk further to fill in afterwards.

950bc - We learn Currency.

I trade Currency to Sumeria for Monarchy and 17g.
Currency and Monarchy to England for Construction and 126g.
Construction to Sumeria for 65g. They get Engineering as their free tech.
I gift Germany in to MA and they draw Monotheism.
Currency to Dutch for 77g.

Republic and 66g to Sumeria for Engineering.
Monarchy, Republic and Engineering to Germany for Monotheism.

Research Feudalism at 50% for now.

Mongols and Sumeria are annoyed with us. I give Mongols 100g and then sell Poly to them and get the money back, they are polite. I don't want to give Sumeria Monotheism, so they can stay grumpy.

925bc - A bunch of barbarians shows up.

850bc - Rae dies on a counter attack, killed by a reg warrior.
Slocum 1/3 defends against warrior

775bc - 16 barbhorses shows up near Akwesasne and St Regis.

Another ministack is forming by Oil Springs to go at the Mongols.

Ok, we have 266g and will lose most of it when the barbs attacks, so I spend it. Embassies with Sumeria and Spain cost around 180g, the rest is used to rush a sword in Oil Springs.

We have 4g left and the barbs can have that, I empty both cities from units.

750bc - We lose a pop and 4g as expected.

Oil Springs sword -> MW
Tyendaga worker -> archer

We are 10 turns from Feudalism at 50%, we have 5g and make 1gpt. I say, we should bring on the GA now, we have a few MW's. Change the builds to more of them, if that is preferred.

The NW stack can use the 3 MW's in the area.

If you choose to start the Golden Age, build a few more units and then a few settlers to fill in the Mongol lands. I like us to raze cities to avoid flips.

1 question, what happens if we capture Sun Tzu's? (I'm guessing we'll raze it given the no build it rule?)
 
We don't want Sun Tzu, so it would be raze and replace :)

When Mongols lurked around I also tried to upgrade warriors :lol:

Okay, looks like alot of people are having there own difficulties keeping up with there SG scedule, myself included :)

I just moved to Vancouver to go to school at BCIT and only have access to the internet at school at the moment. Luckly I can still download at upload the save file at school.

Unfortunately, the hard drive failed on my home computer and I am unable to install fully civ 3 again(probably because my original civ 3 cd has a small crack :( )

I am unable to play at the moment because of this, but I hope to be able to play by tomorrow.

In conclusion, someone else can play before me if they so desire before tomorrow.

I hope I didn't bore anyone with my long story :crazyeye:
 
Pre-Turn:

We're at war with Mongols and Gozpel has left a nice two stack set-up to deal with those mongols. Let's see what I can come up with them.

Our Golden Age hasn't gone yet, so I guess I'll be the one to start that. We're in rebublic, we have 14 towns and could use the boost to speed up infrastructure. Going to trigger GA during my turns.

I see that we're building a lot of archers. They are cheaper than swords/MW's, but that's about it. I'll change some of them to other military units, especially trebuchet's as otherwise our regulars won't do well in the field. Will also build more MW's. We're running out of time to use them, so let's take the advantage of them.

We're also paying 34gpt for unit upkeeps. We have to bring that number down by getting some markets. I'll start some already now to get them ready during our GA.

IT:

Mongols bring one warrior next to stack 2 and a spear/settler pair 2 squares away. Workers, nice, we need 'em :D

I thought for a while should I postpone GA for a few more turns, but our unit support is way too high. Therefore:
Ciardi attacks and kills mongol warrior promoting in process (3/4). Our civilization enters GOLDEN AGE!
Now I can rise sci from 40% to 60% and we still make +1gpt. Feudalism due in 5.

690BC(3):

Ciardi kills nearby archer.

English finish Temple of Artemis! They just became our top target!
Sumerians start Sun Tzu -> They have Feudalism, we have it due in 1.

Move stack 2 towards mongol capital. They have 6 cities left.

IT:

We get Feudalism. Start Invention as that should have better trade potential than the others.

590BC(8):

Stack 1 attacks Almarikh on the coast.
Pommi 2 hits spear, Pommi 3 misses.
Alex dies against archer, Pongo kills that archer flawlessly, but no promotion.
Elvis attacks town, retreat. Paavo kills defending spear, no promotion.
Slobodan attack 2/3 spear, kills him, promotes and auto-razes the town and captures 2 slaves. Good work!

570BC(9):

Move forces next to Karakorum. Wonder how much they have left of the pyramids?

IT:

Oil springs settler -> market
Mongols have HORSES! A horse attacks our archer, but it retreats.

550BC(10):

SallyBob finishes off that retreated horse redlining in process.
Paavo kills mongol archer and promotes to veteran
Ciardi kills one spear from Karakorum, leaving it with a wounded spear.

Notes:

Next to Karakorum are fortified troops that CAN take the city. We should think do we want to wait if the Mongols finish the wonder for us?
There are two active settlers in the old mongol lands, build towns with those.
After Mongols we should hit English hard and fast to get a culture boost from the Temple of Artemis.
Keep using the improved shield production to get our infrastructure into better shape.
The pikeman soon coming from Oka should free one MW from the coastal city.
The lone warrior next to Ulanbataar is searching the mongol horses, find them and PILLAGE! He's going west.

Great :hammer: Tinkez. GA now is great, we can build some infrastructure and military as well.

The changes of units-builds is alright, everyone has got their own preferences of what to build and I have no problems with that whatsoever :)

bedhead, continue the whacking and remember to rename your units :) No need to wait for Mongols to build Pyramids, can we investigate the town? Otherwise, just whack it.
