uh-oh, this is getting to be a short roster. luckily, the turns are very quick. if you figure it out quickly, would you settle for a swap?

Stole Motorized Transport built a bnch of tanks and a line of fortresses in the east and west and set Bugsy up for war with Maya. It's time to clean out Siberia.

Renewed our deal with Rome for Rubber and Gems for electronics. Canceled the deal with Cleo for Iron as we can get it from Rome and some coal for Mass Production. Casesar is no longer the big bully, he is getting bullied as everyone but the pacific Vikings are at war with him.

Maya now have Rocketry as they have ToW in the garrison at one one of their towns.

We are three or so turns away from a careful steal on Flight. I sugggest the Inca make a good prospect for that as they are a little cheaper than the Maya.

I think the best way to proceed is steal Flight, then open fire on the Maya in the east with settlers waiting to rebuild across the waist. we should be able to reach all the way across with the four towns allowed

We are way short of artillery in the west as all the guns, but one are in the east.

The navy is now of a respectable size.
 
Pre-flight – 1750 AD – The Abbott leaves me a flawless game as usual. Thanks Bede. Not much on the deal side available. We’ll need three more settlers. New York is our smallest city available to build one, so I switch it to a settler.

IBT – Produce five tanks, a settler and an infantry. Maya start SETI.

1. 1752 AD – The Mayan boarder has expanded on the land bridge. I move our units out so we can cleanly declare war.

IBT – Produce two tanks, and infantry and a settler.

2. 1754 AD – Messed that up. We still have two units in Mayan territory. Move them next to a city. Should get them kicked out. Then we can declare war.

IBT – Produce five tanks, and artillery piece and our last settler. Mayans complete SETI. We didn’t get kicked out.

3. 1756 AD – Nada.

IBT – We get kicked out. Battlefield Med completes, plus three tanks.

4. 1758 AD – Declare on Maya. This will trigger the Mayan’s MPP with Egypt. Sink a Mayan carrier. Steal flight carefully from the Inca, and we enter the Modern Era. Checking the other civs, the Inca don’t have any Modern techs, and of course the Egyptians and Romans are still in the IA. Change two cities over to bombers.

IBT – A Mayan force heads east and west. We lose a battleship after sinking a destroyer. We build several tanks and a St Ex. We lose our furs as the MPP is triggered. Kill two mechs on the eastern front.

5. 1760 AD – We bomb and kill New Palengue’s two defending Mechs. Sell off the barracks, abandon it and build Odense on the ruins.

Clear out the five eastern invaders at the loss of one tank.

New Chichen has two mechs and a tank defending. All three are redlined. Send two cavs to the glue factory attacking the city. Decide tanks would be better and march some tanks in that direction.

Kill the two invaders in the west.

Sell Caesar Mass Production for Iron & Coal & 36G.
 
IBT – An Egyptian force move into our eastern lands. We lose an inf and a tank in the east. Incans march on us.

6. 1762 AD – Lose two tanks taking out the Egyptian invaders. Then kill the two Inca invaders in the east.

Bombard New Copan from the sea, then take it with a tank and a cav.

Sell off the improvements, abandon the city and build Hareid on the ruins.

Move into position next to New Tikal. Use the cav army to take out two mechs there, but a third stands. Lose two cavs trying to take it out.

IBT – Some Egyptians move into the open as well as a few Incas.

1. 1764 AD - @ New Tikal – We remove the last Mayans from our continent. We now have 16 cities. We’ll be abandoning as we get better locations.

We raze Nasca, Juli and New Thebes.

We take Atico. Abandon Odense. Chuito is torched. Victos also burns, and the foreign presence on our land has finally been ended.

I join Ottoman workers to out lesser cities to bring them up to speed.

IT- Maya start UN.

T3 1770

Not much.

Nothing new.

IT- Mayans bomb Stockholm.

T5 1774

Put a few flak in Stockholm.

IT- More bombs. Rome and Maya sign peace.

T6 1776

Not much to do.

IT- More bombs.

T7 1778

Try a steal from the Mayans, we succeed. I take Rocketry so we repel those pesky bombers better. We have Aluminum by Hareid.

IT- We drop 5 Mayan bombers with our new SAM :D

T8 1780

We take out some Mayan boats with our airpower.

IT- We spank the Mayan airforce.

T9 1782

Not much. Kill lots of ships.

T10 1784

Kill more ships. Not much more.


Summary


Fun turns. Just shot stuff out of the air or sea. We can keep building up cash and keep stealing from the Maya.

sorry, I was away all weekend (and made a second place in the competition :)) and now work is a huge pile of 'URGNET' stuff :(
 
1804-1806
Clean up some pollution and fiddle with the citizens. Get a turn off Apollo and pick up 4gpt.

Chop a forest at New Tikal then disband some slaves for the last six shields on the harbor.

Now for something completely different.....

Egypt and Maya have a MPP so getting Cleo to war with Maya is a non-starter. There has not been a UN vote yet, but there will be soon, now that Cleo and Smokie are making nice-nice. The wild card in this deck are the Inca. They are at war with Rome, so there is no vote for Rome there and they have an RoP with Maya and share a landmass, so there is another vote for Maya. That makes three. They will, however, sign a peace treaty with Scandanavia and an alliance against the Maya straight up and then the vote is deadlocked, with two for Maya, one for Rome and two not voting, so no majority. The risk is that Maya will roll over the Inca with some of their 230 MechInf, but if they do, they do and then the vote is deadlocked with only four nations left. So the pact is signed and Inca declares on the Maya.

In 1810 the Maya show up with a task force off Bergen. Rebase the bomber fleet to sink 'em soon then hit 'em with the frigates and battlewagons who perform less than brilliantly scoring only one hit. Move the boats out of the way.

Then steal Fission from the Maya. And the Home Island has not one but two sources of the green stuff, both within our borders. And Maya have none at all on their landmass :banana: but Rome has three....Egypt has uranium on the coast close to Copenhagen but appears to lack rubber.

Shift the artillery to the peninsula to plink at the Maya if they come in range.

The Incan economy has recovered nicely since the end of the war so I sell him some incense to make it even better.

And the Mayans sail away.....to harass the Romans.

And we find coal at home!!!!

1812 Switch the cities building wealth to Research Labs or something to have shields in the bin when the Apollo Program completes in two.

The Inca lose Vilcabamba to the Maya.

1816
Apollo is done and production shifts to first Spaceship parts.

Sell Computers to the Inca for Dyes and enough money to steal Nuclear Power. This is going to cost us later as it bankrupts the Inca....

Shift the bomber fleet to Stockholm to try and do some damage to the Mayans.

Cuzco has fallen to the Maya.

Three bombers fall to Maya interceptors and destroyer AA fire but the others sink two destroyers and a battleship and cripple the Mayan carrier.

Take a look inside the Inca capitol and it just may survive the coming assault by Maya. Depends on how many tanks are in Cuzco.

1820
Fall a couple of bombs short trying to finish the Mayan fleet off the coast of Inca.

And we finish another spaceship bit.

The Mayan fleet is out of reach of our land based bombers.

One Mayan fleet scuttles for cover but another sails into range.

And our bombers send it to the bottom of the sea, with a little help from the battlewagons.

There will be enough gold in the kitty for a careful steal of Miniturization soon.

We are thirty turns out from the completion of the UN and no elections have been held...but it could go 3-2 Maya unless we can get Cleo at war with him and it looks like she won't play that game for at least another eight turns when we can renegotiate the peace treaty and jam it down her throat. I note from g-man's log that the MPP was signed in 1796. It will be up for renegotiation in 1836, just before ou peace treaty with the witch.


Since the Maya have no Uranium I would expect a UN vote at sometime in the next turn set. The UN is in Tenochtitlan on the coast....

Two cavalry armies have been sacrificed to get a carrier out of Copenhagen.

Unfortunately most of the fleet is in the Inca waters in support of the sinking of the Mayan fleets but Bugsy can probably figure the vectors to get them in support of any Mayan landing.

If we can continue to deadlock the UN election.....
