Grabbed the save and forgot to say I got it before. Played it already was pretty quick.

Pre-turn - Check cities, the scientist in Nippur becomes a taxman and working some better tiles up our income from 3gpt to 8gpt.

Diplo: We are in a bad situation, no one wants peace except for a city or all our gold.
Germany and Sumeria refuses to even talk.

Vet warrior whacks spear in Chita, promotes to elite. Move in bowman.

Lots of russian troops S of Babylon, I will have to take a chance. Move bows away from incense. Spear from Hareid to Babylon.

130bc - Horses are connected.

Babylon bow -> bow

Reg warrior takes of a hp on spear in Chita, bowman finish him off and we destroy the city, settler to replace.

5 bows gathered W of Babylon, going for Krasnoyarsk.

110bc - We defend against russian MI and LB in Nippur.

Play hide and seek with russian pike near our horses.

All civs would sign peace for most of our gold now.

90bc - America wants peace for 108g and 6gpt, no thanks Abe.

We lose 2 bows, kill a pike and a spear in Krasno and take the city with 2 slaves. I caught Cathy with her panties down :) Kill a LB and a spear and will talk peace.

Give them back Krasno and we are on peaceful terms again.

Elite bow kills Enkidu, no luck.

I'm thinking of trading away the horses to Russia, but we better change gov before anything else. In 2 turns we will know where we stand.

70bc - Same elite bow kills Iro spear, no luck.

50bc - We are a Republic, making 35 gpt.

Yet another elite bow wins over Byz spear and nothing.

I'm trying to find a solution to all these wars, it won't be easy.

But at least I can get us a couple of techs. Change all military builds to horses.

So I give horses, 1gpt, 5g and our only incense to Russia for Construction and Currency. Our newest slaves are roading the other incense and will finish in 5 turns. We have to take the unhappiness until then.

I'm not sure if this was clever or not? MI's or knights if they decide to give us a go again, I think we're toast anyways if that happens.

All civs wants 20-25 gpt plus 75g for Poly and peace. Except America, they get 17gpt and some change for the deal.

So we are in Middle ages, slightly behind the others :lol:

30bc - Well now, this is plain silly - Vikings joins Byz against us. We got 22gpt and our wines back.

We are almost a tech behing in techs, how are we supposed to catch up?

Our culture is a joke. Change nothing except rax to temple in Nippur.

What to do with the leader? We don't have any decent units to fill in an army, but I guess I have to create one.

Byzantines is very rich, and we can make peace by 8gpt+76g, but I hold for now. Raise sci to get Feudalism in 13 turns.

IBT: Germany starts Magallan and Sumeria starts JS Bach.

Switch all temples to libraries - it's more culture and useful.

Note: there are 2 iro mounted warriors in the fog near Rostov. It probably has RoP with Russia and tries to find the weakest city to attack. We may want to sign peace (to do so we have to lower sci first, otherwise AI would only ask for a city).

Army should fully heal in Uruk next turn, and then it can go for Molde.

Most AI are building Newton, so we are one age behind. I don't know how to catch up. We don't even have embassy with AI so we don't know if AI is fighting. I've been focusing on infra (libs and markets), but after Feudalism maybe let's build some MDI and prepare a war against Russia? Another hope is AI fight among themselves.

ideas, suggestions? i think we're going to need approximately 50 to 60 cities to pull this off, as well as hammer everyone else back to the stone age. with the AI getting so far ahead tech-wise and grabbing all the MA wonders, we need to figure out how to pull ourselves up to the IA and start competing for them again. extorting techs from russia with knights if we can get to chivalry?

Theodora has bought something very expensive from Germany, because now Bismark has over 3200G and Theodora is broke.

9. 340 AD – Russian workers are now wearing their IA overalls.

After Action – Just building the fill in cities we’ll need for culture. If we can get enough libraries, we should be able to conduct some decent research.

PreTurn: Change Ellipi to court before Forbidden Palace and rush the court. It was 22 when I got it and is 10 at the end of my turns, so I gladly calculated correct. While I admit building an additional mine, I think it is at least even and better in the long run. Change Babylon from settler to Heroic Epic as it is size 7 and misses a granary. The Heroic Epic is good in itself and adds good culture too. Change 3 smaller cities Akkad, Uruk and Shuruppuk to settlers. Trade our last incense to Hiawatha for spices, 63 gold and his territory map (a bit abusive, but we need every piece of gold we can get). Research to 60% leads to invention in 5 at -22gpt as I fear demands.

360AD: Rush a library in Nippur, as its flip chance is about 2,5%. Research down to 50% - invention still in 5.

370AD: Iroquis and Germany sign MA vs Russia. Germany and America sign MA vs Russia. We could renegotiate peace in 4.

380AD: Theo wants to renew straight peace - we agree.

390AD: Our iron at Nippur is connected.

400AD: Invention - gunpowder. Bismark demands 20 gold - ok.

410AD: --

420AD: Renegotiate peace with Russia; i.e. declare on them. Capture 2 worker. Germany completes Magellan's.

430AD: Attack on Kazan: trebs go 2/2; horse army kills 2 fresh spears; MDI kills wounded pike; elite bowmen kills wounded spear and we raze Kazan. Nimrud founded. Lose a bow in Nineveh on the IBT to a knight.

440AD: MDI kills the knight near Nineveh. Russian longbow kills a MDI and a knight has to retreat vs. a bowman on a mountain on the IBT.

450AD: MDI kills longbow.

I know I took this to the edge, but the opportunity was very good, with Russia on war with Sumeria, Germany, Iroquis and America and the Germans are advancing heavily. Russia is horseless so we won't see many more knights and I trust you to outmaneuver the MDIs it will send. :mischief:

The horse army will heal on the IBT if you don't move it. We can trade some wines to Germany to renew our friendship.
 
I see it is back to me. I'll add it to my list.

I do need to apologize for the maltreatment of our Citizens during my last turn (pop-rushing). Those Citizens actually willingly gave their all to furthur the cultural greatness of Babylon.
 
Even though Constantinople has 113 less culture than our complete civilization, this is still a culture game to lose. Swap Ashur and Hareid to a cathedrals. Swap Akkad, Alesund, Suppar and Eridu to temples. Swapp Bodo to libarary.

I see we are paying 6GPT to the Iroquois for an expired Peace treaty. We cannot afford Theology from him so we pay 29GPT and 112g for Chivarly in the peace deal.

I sell our next twenty years of vintage to Germany for 377g. I could have had their WM but I would not be able to recover that much gold selling it around.

Pull spear and bowman out of Babylon to protect the Incense.

Change Nineveh to courthouse.

460AD-1 I do not know why the settoer is in the stack heading to Smolensk. He heads to coast near Larsa. Build Cultural city of Zamua near Samarra and Eulbar. Viking peace went from us paying 2GPT to Horses and 250g for Theology. When we are through with Catherine, we can move our troops north and see if he will declare by booting his tresspassers.

IBT A MDI and warrior lose to 2 MDI and we lose the settler.

I should have left him since he was captured. :( Smolensk was size three when I captured it and has good shield production being in our first ring. St. Pete is now German so there is no culture pressure and the library has been built.
 
Going to war with Russia was an excellent decision. I think grabbing the Viking city to the NW is our next goal.
 
If my Bowman could have defeated the MDI at Alesund, we would have been aboe to push a little more and pick up a city in the peace deal. I don't recall which town but she was close on one of them.

We have 11 more turns of peace with Rangar to move troops back up there. I spread out our Bowmen to fill some border cities that were empty. The Army is watching the Germans near Smolensk and our trebs are in Nippur with several more Bowmen. After taking Molde, we will have the time to move south to pick up another Russian city when that deal expires in about 13 turns.

Germany is HUGH with Cavalry and Rifles taking the Russian cities. Biz also has a hugh bank account.

The only other "easy" town would be the Sumerian town, but they have a stack of MA units trying to get a Russian city, too.

Vikings got all MA techs, except ToG. 1 turn left on the horsetrade with them, so we should be able to get something next turn at least.

Sumeria/Russia/America are only up us Nationalism. Byz/Iro have Industrialization in addition. Germany has Medicine in addition. I set to Ironclads for now.

We have no coal! But there is one source just outside St. Petersburg.

IBT Germany declares on Iro! It's a relief. I hope the two strongest AI keep fighting. Hopefully Germany won't take it over.

Not much. We should be relatively safe from attack, but we really need more military. We still have two empty towns, try to fix that. Germany is very aggressive, and if it makes peace with Iro it may turn to us. Once we have a complete rail net we should prepare for some wars. Those Viking towns are good to take.

Sumeria is also at war with iro I think as it has MPP with Germany.

We are making 84gpt but we cannot get ironclad anytime sooner.

Our coal can be connected before the current deal expires.

AI hasn't started ToE yet.
 
We can begin building ICS now, squat in towns within our territory, and even better find spots where we can expand.

Rush culture and Germany will chew dust. But we still need to build military to take out a town or two from germans or whoever, just to consilidate our position. And to strengthen ourselves, we can't forget that.

Viking town can be taken after the deals and we can fit a couple of towns up there, raze it and we can fit in 3.

Clean up the marsh 2E of Nippur and we have another spot.

Since microbe didn't provide a map I don't know how it looks on the western side. And I'm too stuffed to change cd now.

I have the game. Of course I now have three on my plate, I'll try and have this up by Saturday night.
 
Sorry for not posting a picture. I founded two towns but Vikings stole the iron from us. We need to get rid of those two Viking towns.

Do not ignore military! Keep building knights and upgrade to cavs once saltpeter is back in 10 turns. I was really nervous when I saw so many German cavs and rifles running around our towns. We shouldn't leave towns empty.
