GPuzzle's Civs

About Japan's colors: don't you think it would be better to choose something that doesn't try to relate to their current flag? White and red weren't really the colors of Japan at this point, and it would probably be better to use something more specific to the period and let this colors be used by someone else should they want to make a Japan were this would fit better. I particularly think that something with black or dark grey should be used.

I tested it out in-game, it's grey and this weird red-pink-ish hue which for some reason reminds me of a certain brand of cough drops.

I absolutely love that scheme and I'm disappointed in myself that I didn't snatch it up sooner.

Thank senshi for that, dude's great with color schemes.

All things said and done, I think I may have outdone myself with one of my April's Fools designs. This one will be used, but the other which was for The Britons was so good I'll use it for a Medieval England later.

The French

Leader: French Taunter
UA: Masters of Taunting
Garrisoned Cities have +100% :c5rangedstrength: Ranged Strength. Upon finishing a Defensive Building, gain :c5greatperson: Taunter points in the :c5capital: Capital.

UU: Vache Catapult
Trebuchet replacement. When garrisoned in a City, may attack twice.

UU: Taunter
Great Writer replacement. Upon being expended, :c5strength: City Strength and :c5culture: Culture is increased in all Cities. Has unique quotes.

No cattle bonuses? i'm disappointed.

I actually was toying with a few Cattle-related concepts, couldn't really figure out any.

I'm in a motel in Rockhampton at the moment. Not that that's relevant at all.

Anyway, I checked the transcript and rewatched the film and the French Taunter actually gives the name of his master ;)

Here's my attempt at a design.

The French
Leader: Guy de Lombard
Capital: Castle Aauuugh
UA: I Fart in your General Direction!
Gain a large Culture, Science or Faith bonus upon denouncing an enemy, and a much smaller one upon defeating enemies in your territory. Worked Animal resources provide Great Writer points.

UU: Vache Catapult
Replacing the Trebuchet, the Vache Catapult has no bonus against cities, but gains a 50% combat bonus when in your territory and an additional 100% bonus when stationed on a Pasture.

UU: Taunter
Replacing the Great Writer, the Taunter creates unique Great Works which increase the Ranged Combat Strength of the cities they occupy. Additionally, it reduces the combat strength of enemy units when garrisoned.

The Kingdom of England

Leader: Edward III

UA: Hundred Years of War
Conquering Cities and adopting Social Policies grants :c5gold: Gold and :c5greatperson: Sire points. :c5puppet: Puppet Cities increase :c5culture: Culture in the :c5capital: Capital and passively generate Units.

UU: Sire
Great General replacement. Upon its birth, an Unit is born alongside it. That Unit gains :c5strength: Combat Strength bonuses and automatically heals when stacked with a Sire.

UB: Fief
Castle replacement. Automatically turns the City into a :c5puppet: Puppet (unless it's the :c5capital: Capital). If the City is the :c5capital: Capital, it generates :c5gold: Gold for every Fief built in other Cities. If the City is a :c5puppet: Puppet, it generates +1 :c5food: Food and +2 :c5gold: Gold on Wheat tiles.

I don't know where this design came from but goddamnit I love it.

Also, does anyone know a good Roman-esque Icon for Gaius Marius? Julius already has the Roman Eagle.
