Grab the Game, Ghandi! -open succession game-

Mahatma Hammers has control now, he is destined to become a.. Failure?

- Paris Captured! - Peace WIth France

-Peace with Germany for a high price on their part

- Peace with Rome!

- ZULU DECLARED WAR! They are super- Powerful and are taking control of the borders! Need Pikemen, can build because we have feudalism! Must.. Kill... Shaka.... ohhh the pain....

The famous explorer returns home, after being rescued from his failure to circumnavigate the globe, by english fishermen. Quickly he wins public support in his claims for the throne. He is crowned Kama Putra I.

680 AD -Alliance concluded with the french against the Zulus. The price was a bit steep, but its best not to antagonize our neighbours while we wage war on the western front. Sold lots of maps & ressources to everyone less fortunate- We now have science at 70%, and a steady income from our deals of 24 gold! :) Established a bunch of embassies with our trade partners, to facilitate alliances and diplomatic arrangements.

Two swordsmen fall bravely charging zulu Impis on hills near Brutesia. Mightily strong, those impis, at least on hills. We need something more heavy to defeat these folks. We have almost no offensive units, that are strong enough to take them on. We must conclude peace as soon as possible, until we get knights (in 9 turns)

700 AD Spotted an indian settler lost in the polar region. Better get him south to some fertile soil.

720 AD Delhi completes Hanging Gardens. Great switch-over effect to Sun Tzus, so we might miss out on that one in Leeville.

Where's our scandinavian 'bridge'? Seems we got a lost galley on the spanish coast.
We get lots of veteran pikemen from zulu attacks. So far they haven't had much success in their campaign. They do pillage some roads here and there, but thats about it. I think we can conclude peace sometime soon, and then prepare for a REAL war. We will soon have chivalry and produce our war elephants and trample them to their doom.

740 AD Peace concluded with the zulus on favourable terms. Now, build up and crush them. We have elephants in 4 turns..!

760 AD Military buildup against the zulus continues, as we prepare for the 2nd Zulu war.

770 AD We discover Chivalry! Now let the show begin!

Again huge profits are made from selling our knowledge of the world to our less enlightened neighbours. We now have 565 gold, +12/turn and a science rate of 90%...

820 AD Again we profit enormously by selling Chivalry to our far away friends in far away lands. We now have a science of 100% and a steady income of +59/turn!

830 AD Kama Putra is founded in the east, in between new zulu territory.

850 AD We begin to profit from the GL, and start Sistine Chapel in Delhi.

860 AD Kama Putra resigns in luxury and splendour, satisfied with the vast riches he has brought the Indian people through his diplomatic efforts.

After taking a wrong turn for the holidays, General Lee is back.

He turns to hunt down the seller of Chivalry, but can't find him.

Frelling part time job, I am finally getting to move now:( Should post within 1 hour.

I'm really enjoying watching this succession game, guys, keep up the good work!

Since I just got the game, I wouldn't dare ruin it by taking a shot at it (Santa didn't fail me :) )

Some distance relative of General Lee takes back India. He knows what his job - continue to create wonderous cities ;)

Pre 870 AD - Sistine chappel cut to 30 turns, Sun Tzu cut to 16 turns. No one knows how to micro manage like me ... He sees another power of India - Culture beyond any one else by far. 5500 culture is a long way to go, but I see the light.

870 AD - For the love him so much, the palace is expanded. Screw the Zulu - They cross our borders. If I didn't spot that army, they would be dead right now! Japan and Iroquois have signed a peace treaty.

890 AD - WAR, screw that last German city. France and Zululand sign a peacy treaty.

900 AD - Rushed barracks in Kama Putra.

920 AD - Round of map trading to pay for all the rushing, Iroquois give us $30 & $1/turn. Meow, meow, meow - What's that you say? That cats already out of the bag, oh all right Chivalry to Rome for $6/turn and Japan for $4 turn.

930 AD - Education is ordered up on the science menu. Culture is our edge, and I want Music theory. Rushed Pikeman in Kama Putra.

940 AD - Bite me Japan. I just get a large stack to take out Frankfurt, and Japan takes it?

950 AD - Japan and Russian form an alliance against Germany. What is left to fight? More Rush building - temple in Kama Putra, Warrior > swordsman in Hammers & Freddy Blakia & Kendtertown and Leeville. Quality also helps. Yet another round of massive map trading.

970 AD - Kuma Putra rush builds again, this time a library. Maybe Umfolzi will culture flip for us at some point :flamedevi:

990 AD - The stupid greeks build Sun Tzu????? Well, at least Zululand didn't get it. We missed by one lousy turn.

1000 AD - Can we rush Kama Putra any more? Slam dunk a cathedral. If any Zululand will culture flip...

1010 AD - Some days you get good news. Leo's workshop is ours. Music theory on the way. The workshop is completed, so I sell the prereq of Engineering for decent money.

1030 AD - BITE ME! Rome builds the Sistine Chappel. We buy a university at a loss of 248 shields. Port Hammer rushes a library.

1060 AD - Finally China has money, Enginerring for $30 & $10/turn. France $19 & $9/turn. Iroquios $13 & $3/turn. Russia still broke, offer $2 gold

I still wonder if I made a mistake no switching to Republic. The big decision for the next player. Culture flips chances increase with better goverments

Summary - Some tech trading not done. Sorry Engineering for $20 is a waste. Keep people a couple of techs from the wonders. This looks like a culutural win game, and all those wonders will help big time. I am trying to keep us above $1000 for the banking wonder of Smith's trading company. Culture started at 5500, ends at 8000. Not bad for 20 turns :)

The palace in Sigville is to queue up for Bach's Cathedral. Switch next turn. Maybe another Palace should queue up, if you have another wonder target.

The Donsig dynasty is back...

1070 AD: Indians make beautiful music. Zulus told to leave our borders and they do. Donsig the Learned initiates a great university building program.

1080: Bought pikes for some of our spearmen. Forces stationed all along our western border in order to seal off the Zulus. Zulus want to trade maps, we decline.

1090: Our treasury is sinking...

1100: Our borders expand and Umfolozi (or whatever) is almost surrounded by our borders.

We need roads on our western borders in case of war. I made a settler to found a city on the tiny island south of Paris. I think we need a few ships in the Med in case of war with Zululand. Moscow would be a prime target in such a war (to cut iron and horses off).

We are third in score...

Son of an elephant trainer, the young evil Budda is accepted as court servant. His evil plots soon brings him to power, poisoning the kings meal. He wishes only one thing. Revenge! His great grandfather was once killed by the evil Zulus, in the battle of Brutesia.

Scheming and knowing little about warfare, he orders indian elephants to ATTACK Umfolzi, and all along the Zulu borders. A war that seems to become very bloody indeed, for the zulu military might is strong, and they have an army headed for Delhi.

1110 AD We defeat numberous zulu swordsmen and cavalry, but they take down quite a few elephants too. But we have many of them, and many more in production. We hurry a couple of universities to boost elephant production. We will have gunpowder in a couple of turns now. We trade maps and a few techs to pay for war preparations. Again we have a huge income, boosted heavily by our golden age. Now lets see who will dominate this continent...

Our forces are victorious! We capture Bapedi without casualties!

1120 AD Umfolozi captured and burned to the ground. Zulu army decimated by brave elephant division outside Kama Putra. We discover Gunpowder, and decides to head for Democracy, via printing press & banking.

1130 Zulu army defeated by Elephant division without a single casualty, outside their city of Isipezi. However, after prolonged battles, indian forces suffer an embarrassing defeat in the mountains of Intombe (also known as Schwitzerland), where King Budda falls bravely, commanding his vast armies of Elephants through the Alps, as no man has done before.

The indian army before the battle of Intombe :

Incredible first-hand account found by archaologists -centuries later :

Dear Mom,

Our march have come to a halt, while we recuperate and wait for reinforcements to arrive, and wait for our kings successor. We hear rumours about large saltpeter concentrations north of Moscow. With this one can make very loud and effective weapons, we hear. Our commanders say, we must gain control of Italy before we can gain the advantage of this discovery. Who will seize control with the Indian Empire now, I wonder. We are terribly down in numbers, only our division remains. Its getting awfully cold in these mountains, but I am pretty confident we will beat the Zulus second time around,

Love, your son, Japar Hualalumpur,
October, in the year of Our Lord 1150 AD

Iron and horses and saltpeter, oh my! All in Italy?!? We'd better boot the Russians and Zulus from that peninsula!

Clarification: I'm posting from work and do not have the game. Repeat: I am not playing right now.

Wasn't sure if donsig actually has it or not. It didn't look like he said he was playing. Brb.

EDIT: My wife is making me go shopping with her

I do NOT have the game.
I'll come back later tho.

1160 AD - Guy Incognito, Mister Generic's son, is appointed general of the war against the Zulu. Isipezi is captured and razed. Printing press completed, beginning research on Chemistry.

1170 AD - Kiev falls from Russian to Zulu hands.

1190 AD - JS Bach's Cathedral completed.

1210 AD - We lost our supply of spices. Bismarck wants a peace treaty for two of our Zulu workers, and is turned down. Russia and Zululand sign a peace treaty.

1220 AD - Intombe captured. Incognito chooses to raze it because no defensive units can be spared. We gain about 10 workers from the city. Frankfurt overthrows Japanese and joins our empire.

1230 AD - New Mpondo captured and razed. Kiev captured and razed, Zulu workers taken. Great leader acquired.

1250 AD - Astronomy completed, beginning Physics.

1255 AD - Observatory begun in Delphi.

1260 AD - Ibabanago captured and razed. Moscow captured and garrisoned.

1265 AD - Peace treaty with the Zulu. Forbidden Palace begun in Hammers.

1275 AD - Incognito launches an assault on St. Petersburg, beginning a war with the Russians. The city is taken and garrisoned, securing a source of saltpeter. Rome declares war on Americans. Our Golden Age ends. Physics completed, beginning Magnetism.

1280 AD - Peace with Germany.

1295 AD - France declares war on America.

1300 AD - Guy Incognito dies and is given a ceremonial burial for his victories in the Great Zulu War.

 Sounds like half the map was razed! There must be room for indian expansion now... All the northeastern zulu cities were probably worthless anyway. I vote for using that Great Leader for rushing a wonder in Bapedi or something, to strengthen our western culture border.

btw, did Japar the elephant trainer actually survive? I wondered if he'd be toast left in the alps with one hp left.

Yeah I think Mr. One HP War Elephant bit the dust in my first attack on Intombe.

We now have massive War Elephant concentrations on the western and eastern Zulu borders. If the next person wants to attack it shouldn't be too difficult to take at least a few cities right off the bat.
