Graphic Glitch in menu and on some icons (around min specs, mostly X1950 PRO):

This is so funny. I was gifted a 8800 GT two days ago.

It was broken and screwed up my Windows 7 installation.

Everything doesn't run smooth now.

I think I'll just go for a 27" iMac with bootcamp...

Funny. :) This is what I just did. I sold the new graphics card I just bought and got me a 27" iMac. The i5 quad one. I do not have all settings on high, but I don't mind. It runs smoothly now and plays beautifully.

I do have the glitch issue with this stuff :

Intel Dual Core 2.16 GHz
Win XP SP2 running through bootcamp
ATI RADEON Mobility X1600
2GO RAM

My friend has no problem running on her laptop :

AMD Athlon Dual Core 2.11 GHz
Win XP SP3
NVidia Geforce 8400 GS
4GO RAM

I'll update my bootcamp XP to SP3 this week and tell if it's doing anything (Now, this is kind of good reason to make my OS cleaned up...). But i do sucpect that it's once more an issue with the ATI Legacy drivers...

Thanks, So the long and the short is that besides buying a new system, there is no work around to this problem?

Oh, would be good to know which driver you use.
If the problem only occurs in the main menu, then it's probably the best possible configuration with that issue yet, and it be nice if we could tell the other people what driver version to use.

My garble problem is with the main menu AND some icons. Not terribly annoying, but annoying enough to warrant a post. ;)

I had exactly the same problem with my Radeon X1300 Pro. Bought and installed an HD 5570 (was limited by a power supply) and the problem is gone for good.
