Grasslands turning brown

This is something I noticed in the past too, but I just noticed it tonight while testing my mod: the grasslands in my game have turned brown, almost the color of plains but a little darker. I went back to the main menu and ran another test with my mod inactive, and the grasslands are back to normal. Any idea what could cause this?

Just thought I would bump this. I've continued to experience grasslands turning brownish perhaps half the time lately. I really don't know why, especially considering it doesn't happen all the time.
