What exactly do you mean by this? Should I get out and shoot him with a rocket launcher? Should I park an Infernus or something similar next to the starting line? Or maybe a Hotring Racer? If you complete all the car finding missions, they appear at the car dealership. I've won all six races with it. It's definitely the fastest car in the game.Originally posted by Smash
LOL..The Driver is maybe the hardest mission in the game...but again,there is a full proof way..well almost fullproof.
hint:no rule says you have to stay in the Sentinel

3 things I do which have resulted in 100% success in 6 goes.
1.enter the mission with 2 stars.You are going to get them anyways.Get them inside the club and enter the "pink"..This results in Hilary's car being rammed on either side at the start causing him damage.
2.Hold look right(iirc) and shoot at the start.You can blow out a rear tire on his car or at least cause further damage.
3.You got it Pontiac.Park a fast car down aways from the start so it isn't removed by the cutscene.I like the first right.Actually get out and change cars.Hotring racer is king but any fast car will do.Hotring is just that much better.You will catch up quick.
Do all 3 and that should be enough to win easily.Know the course of course
2 other little helpers-
1-undoubtedly you may have noticed that near the Ocean Beach gunshop when you turn right,whoever is in front will often be rammed on either side by police.If you are still behind you can lift off the gas a touch and let Hilary get rammed.
2-if it is still close,you can cut the last corner by the police bribe
I have heard of people just waiting for him to come round and blow him up with rocket launcher but it never seems to work for me so I think it is an urban legend.
You can also try the police "pit" move and spin him out with the Sentinel.This is advanced driving though and not real easy.
But..when I beat him..why would I hire him?..always struck me as odd.

If you kill Hillary, then you fail the mission. How do I know that, well because I shot his car to bits with my colt

Buy it!
Behind the studio there is a subterranean garage area where you can pay to go into races. Using the Police Sports car from the rear of the nearest Police Station (and using its siren to clear traffic) it is easy to win the longest race. $10,000 to enter and a certain (at least with MY driving) $40000 outcome.
You can do it again and again and again. It makes it very easy to purchase all those properties and it isn't a cheat

hehehe...when I wanted a little cash early I would park in Little Havana near the border with Little Haiti.Just sit,listen to the radio and wait for the gang violence to erupt.Then get out and pick up all the cash and weapons.Little Havana is very dangerous place at night

This CAN be done on the normal street races. Just go to the starting line but don't park in the pink. Fire a rocket in between the two cars in front. This should set them on fire and destroy them in a few seconds. It will take the third car a few seconds to get around the wreckage, giving you time to carefully aim and destroy it. Then finish the race at your convienience! You can even go through the checkpoints in a faggio!

The Army tanks are completely worthless in terms of the city stopping my rampages, normal cops are far more dangerous and can't be stolen -virtually indestructible.

I've managed to aquire 95 of the 100 secret packages. I read online that I need 100 to get the Hunter (Apache-type helicopter). However, I was flying over the Air Force base and I saw one underneath me! I quickly landed and jumped in before the troops could get me. This vehicle is AMAZING! It's comparable to a regular Maverick in terms of speed and handling, but it can also launch missles and has a forward mounted machine gun that can absolutely decimate cars, boats, or people. You can also do vigilante missions in it, but these are difficult because it's hard to aim the missles at as small a target at a car.
The one I was flying blew up accidentally whe I got too close to power lines. It regenerates at the air base, but they're incredibly hard to get. There are dozens of soldiers, all armed with assault rifles. Even with body armor, a few seconds of being shot at by a group of these soldiers means death. I took a regular maverick and landed on the roof of one of the buildings in the base. I dropped grenades off the roof to kill as many soldiers as possible, but they keep regenerating. I have to jump off and make a mad dash for the chopper. As soon as I get in, everybody starts shooting at the helicopter. 75% of the time they shoot it enough to bring it down, with me inside. There has to be an easier way to get the Apache than this!
The same difficulty applies to stealing the tank.

With the Tanks you get a max. wanted rating...be in a rather isolated area. When the takes come rolling, shoot the crew through the slant and "car-jack" it and hey presto you got a tank.
Take it to your garage and get to your change of clothes and save

Holy crap, it worked! I just walked right in and nobody did anything! I made it up to vigilante level 9 before I flew too low on a strafing run and lost my Hunter. This is great!
edit: You seem to know a lot about this game, Smash. Maybe you could help me with this. At the 80 package level, the Sea Sparrow was supposed to be delivered to my starfish island mansion. However, the Helipad still only has the regular maverick. Is there another place to get the sea sparrow?

Spend $600 on the dancer in the back room. After that the Pole Position will make $4000 a day.
The Hunter is SO FREAKIN' AMAZING. If you do vigilante mode in it you can make huge amounts of money. Take a look at this screenshot I took a few minutes ago. A few moments after taking this I accidentally rammed into a police helicopter and died. Please note that I have killed 198 criminals and have made it to vigilante level 23.

Check the back of the mansion. It should be near the pools of water. If it isn't there go out of the area and comeback, it should respawn.
