howdy y'all,

i'm playing c3c for the 1st time ... [been on civ3 vanilla for years and years.] ... and i can't see any real use for the guerilla unit. it's weak, it's spelled wrong [there are TWO r's in the real word], and i am too ignorant to figure out any reason to use it.

the defensive bombardment ability seems like a DEFENDER unit attribute but the unit is so weak that i can't see using it instead of infantry.

infantry
6/10/1, cost = 90, upg = mech inf, req = replaceable parts

guerilla [guerrilla]
6/6/1/(3 def. bombard), cost = 90, upg = tow inf, req = replaceable parts

what am i missing?

please, if there's a nifty thread discussing how to use this unit - and other new units - would someone kindly point it out to me? i searched and found nothing. [*sigh ...*] my search mojo is not working today ...

take care,
lee

Plus, longbowmen and medieval infantry needed an upgrade path. Somewhat expensive, but if you have the money and need upgraded troops quickly it can be useful.

Actually, it can be spelled either way. I Googled it, and it didn't ask what I meant, for something different.

howdy y'all,

gak! i missed that rubber wasn't required for guerrilla. that does make it more understandable. i wonder what it would play like if i set it to treat all terrain as roads ...

thanks folks! much appreciated!

take care,
lee
