Er, my hint wasn't very clear I take it. It has nothing to do with gastroenterology. If it were to do with gastroenterology, it would be along the lines of bypasses preformed, yes. But again, as I say, wrong field.

A little less specific than that. It's not a single procedure, but a type of them.

Broader. Glance back at the map, the... countries don't correspond to population as much as one might expect for medical procedures.

Getting a lot closer. Though I think Iran leads the world in that one. Kinda odd.

Bingo. 25 countries that constitute 90% of all plastic surgery.

A pretty easy one, though it was difficult to make for a few reasons.

Bonus points if you can name the scale.

    It looks like independence dates

    Gold - independent before 1945.
    Pink - independent between 1945 - 1960
    Red - independent between 1960 - 1974
Dark Red - independent after 1974
    Blue - still a colony.

Problem: it doesn't explain Jamaica (independent in the 1960s), Brunei (independent in 1984), Indonesia (independent in 1949) and Mongolia (independent in 1911).

    Edit: doesn't explain Belize either.
