And start swinging for it.
After months of conflicting signals on abortion, Rudolph W. Giuliani is planning to offer a forthright affirmation of his support for abortion rights in public forums, television appearances and interviews in the coming days, despite the potential for bad consequences among some conservative voters already wary of his views, aides said yesterday.
If he can make it past the primary, this could significantly increase his appeal to middle America. If he wins the Presidency, we could be looking at a new Reagan. (in terms of a candidate redefining a party)

And those are two mighty big ifs.

Ew... I really would prefer Obama over Guiliani. Not because of politics, but because he is a despicable excuse for a Republican.

Guiliani would be a great Democrat, but he is not. So he garners no respect from me.

Except for his Democrats will cause another 9/11 rant, I would like for him to be the next president.

Giuliani is lucky that there is no strong conservative in the race with a chance - that's why he can start playing towards the general while still maintaining a fighting chance in the primaries. The only hope Conservatives have to getting a candidate representing their views in the race is if Fred Thompson jumps in and he is as conservative as they think he is.

I do not accept the false premise that middle America condones the mass murder of innocent citizens. This should strengthen the hands of the true conservatives in the race, Romney and Brownback.

They aren't true citizens until they are out of the womb, though.

It was pretty much required of him to do this, given the revelation that he'd previously donated to Planned Parenthood.

At this point he might as well try and make the best of it, since he's long since lost the vote of anyone who requires their politician to be pro-life. Personally, I think he might just retain a chance at the Republican nomination, but that's only if Fred Thompson doesn't actually join the race.

McCain and Guiliani are doing a pretty good job screwing their chances at winning the primary, lets hope this gives Ron Paul the opening he needs to win it.

Man, you're fast. ;) Okay, though, just make it "innocent humans" instead.

Alright, then.

I agree with you on that point, it's just that I dislike your wording of it. :p

I do not accept the false premise that middle America believes that abortion is the murder of innocent citizens.

Brownback does not have a chance. Romney has a chance, but, IMO, is more of a wishy washy flip flopper than a true conservative. Plus, his wife donated to Planned Parenthood.

Planned parenthood does alot more than abortion stuff. The vast majority is not related to abortion, actually.

I donate to hospitals, doesn't mean I support sex changes.

Don't confuse us with the facts.

But think of it like someone telling you that Halliburton Corp actually does a lot of worthy stuff in the world - sure, you think, but that doesn't mean that you're going to like them.

If he is the republican candidate im voting for him. otherwise im voting democrat. my vote depends on you republicans. Do you go with a sure bet of me voting for your party's guy or do you reject the big tent philosophy because he believes in abortion rights and increase the chance of losing the election?

Anything that distinguishes candidates has got to be a good thing, if you can get enough candidates into the mix.

the reason is as follows: anyone candidate that wants to ban abortion as a republican is doing it out of deep religious conviction that will also taint other decisions they make.

Many Conservatives have played the Planned Parenthood = evil card for years. They are not going to be thrilled that Romney's wife donated to them.
