1 time out of 30, you'll fail when you had a 97% chance of success. We just don't remember the other times as vividly

Eh, accurately calculating the combat percentages isn't hard. Just take what's displayed on screen, subtract 15-20% (depending on how lucky you feel, punk) and there you go. In my experience, it's quite accurate. I'm constantly losing troops to 98-99% odds, but find it nigh-impossible to win a fight with less than 20% stated odds.

If I wasn't so bone-lazy, I'd make a full statistical investigation to prove that the displayed odds are false, but as it stands, I'll leave that to insane prophets...
