Halo Over-rated?

I played it the other day, and I have the same view. It was far to easy, and it looks like it's made for abunch of 10 year olds. Cartoonish graphics, etc. It looks like something Disney would promote!

Also, you would think they'd add SOMETHING new inside of the second one. Halo 2 is the exact same thing as the first game.
Dual Wielding, Jacking Vehicles, Destructible Vehicles and Environment, more vehicles, flying vehicles, More wepaons including the Plasma Sword, Xbox Live capability, More than 2 flag CTF, new modes, new customization.

To me, all of those have been added for multiplayer. I've heard that the singleplayer isn't that great, and that the ending sucks, but that the multiplayer is pretty damn cool.

Halo, is severly over-rated. I mean its damn near the same as Unreal Tournament.
I don't see any reason why people think Halo is the "game of the gods". I'm sticking with my Rainbow 6: Ravenshield FPS.

Dual Wielding: Red Faction, Red Faction 2, Unreal Tournament, Unreal Tournament 2003, Unreal Tournament 2004.

Jacking Vechiles: Rip off of Grad Theft Auto

Destructible Vechiles/Environment: Red Faction & Red Faction 2

Vechiles: Almost any FPS nowadays have vechiles.... not a biggy

Flying Vechiles: Unreal Tournament 2004, the first Halo also had them.

XBox Live Capability: As Halo is the only real FPS for this... not many games can say the same. However, all of the Unreal Tournaments you can play online (and alot better). Half-Life, Doom 3.

Those are literally just the absolute tip of the iceberg. There is about a 101 other less well known games with those features to.

Have been playing Halo for the past few days on the PC and, while I can see how it's an impressive FPS for a console, it really doesn't hold my attention. Much of the single-player game consists of: run into room, kill everything, possible pressing of button then move on.

I don't believe I'm that far into the game though, so I'll stick with it for now. On another note, playing split-screen with seven other players on the X-Box was very good fun. I'll gve it that.

Tsk - just realised that CenturianV pretty much explains what I meant, only much better, silly me. :crazyeye:

The point was to say that it had somethings new, he said it was the same game.

And it certianly combines all of these things fairly well. The thing that need most improvements, IMO, is the map designs. There is only like 5 good maps. And there is only 12 total.

You guys are being insanely critical. The game has great gameplay.

It has the same gameply as any other FPS out there.

The only FPS that really stands out to me is Unreal Tournament. Why? The ability to CONTROL your squad. You can have them cover you, take defensive poistions, launch an offensive. Which other games have this? Except for Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon... none. The only game that even comes close is Killzone, which does not let you control them, but has them determine what to do base on what you do.

PC FPS and games in general are much better than console, with some exceptions however. Call of Duty, Half Life 2, MOH:AA are all great FPS', and you dont even control a squad.
