Hannibal/Carthage - the best Civ in BtS?

Hmm...it's been a while since I played Hannibal, and I've been trying to find a handful of good leaders to wean me away from the Dutch. I have to say, though, giving up my auto-popping borders and Dikes is always a wrench. The only more addictive trait to me is Spiritual, and at least the new Golden Age mechanics helped drop that habit.

Believe I'll give ol' Hanners a try in my next game.

Charismatic gives you a good reason to build Stonehenge or to chop some monuments though :)

I love Hannibal but damn, how could anyone ever beat my main man Darius.

Hannibal's traits are top noch, the only thing I don't like about him is the UU. Never in play in my games(not a rusher, play on Noble)

What traits are Darius?

nice, but playing on Noble dosen't like organized much.

My first Emperor win was with Hannibal. Terrific traits, UB and UU. Numidian Cavalry rock! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise (but they probably will anyway) :D.

What's not to love?

hughe empires like organized :p
no use playing it in an occ - thats like a SE with financial

Carthage is good ,especially in Archipelago -- for his very useful UB
and financial is always an excellent trait:goodjob:

I love Hannibal he is my favorite leader.
I always use him when I move up a level and have won both the Noble to prince and prince to monarch with his awsome UB.
On my monarch game I played Fractal and got stuck on a continent with peter. I built the GLH and beelined Compass to get cothons. After rushing peter once I serriously outteched him untill someone made contact with him durring our second war (I had made contact with them way earlier but I wanted to finish him off) and vassalized him. in the end I had cavelry vs his (very new btw) muskets.
I ended up using free market to get 6 trade routes that where 9-10 :commerce: each in each of my cities.
good times.
