Looking for da man
Well, 2001 is finally at an end, and it was quite a year.

No moon colony or meeting with with aliens, but instead, losts of bad news. :(

Here's hoping 2002 is MUCH better!

Happy new year everybody! [party]

A fresh year, a fresh day, for some a fresh beginning. I will most likely start that fresh year with a bit of a hangover, but take it for what it's worth. Appreciate what you have, WHO you have. It's the beginning of a new year, but it will go quick also. This last one sure did. So take the time to stop and smell the proverbial roses. Best wishes and Happy New Year. :goodjob:

(yes it's sappy but I mean it)

I don't drink or anything so I'll be drawing some cartoons to bring in this new year...parties are full of boring people!

I hope the coming year is a better one for this planet.

And I hope you Civ Fanatics see the dawn of many more years to come!

Sixchan, you will be celebrating with Buckie, I presume,

Maybe if you had said New Year, I would have noticed, Six!

Besides, mod perogitive. ;)

Here I am, sitting in front of the computer and 1 hr and 4 mins before the new year.

Happy New Year everyone and Best Wishes!

well, the new year is 32 minutes away and i cant believe im in front of a computer!!! oh well, considering im in a new country (Australia) and my old country (nz) passed the new year 4 hours ago, i can forgive myself!

Anyway, happy new years to everybody and anybody!!!

A new year, as such it is, being almost two hours old.
With a new year, one reflects on the one past.
It was a year full of many things, full or great sorrow and pain that will not heal as easy as the years tick over.
A year of death, and yea of war. But this is not all.
Were one to dwell upon the bad, the malaise would grow heavy and not lift, like a suffocating miasma of despond.

Instead, one can remember all that happen, and grieve, most surely, but also look back with different emotions. One can look back in anger, pride, shame, regret, but also in wistfullness, nostalgia, and dare one say it, happiness.

This was the year when one got Civ2, and the Internet for that matter, as well as did many, many things. A year in which one forsook much from the past- alcohol, ideology, love, but also took on new ideas and thoughts, and shaped life as best as one can.
The past is painfully unchangeable, but the present and the future hold that intangible quality left at the bottom of our Pandora's jewelry box- hope.
It is hope tinged with reality, and the knowledge that some things are beyond even it, but it is hope nonetheless.

I'll break out of the philosophical mode and wish ye all a very, very Happy New Year, full of hope, new horizons, and whatever you seek.

From the bitter dark hearted bastard who lives at the bottom of the Off Topic Forum.

I am now 10 minutes before 2002.
2001 was such a disaster year
US-China stands off
Terrorist attacks
Australia burning forest
global recession
there were a lot more

What i had a bad life this year too,all hopes for 2002!
Long live CFC's (thats how Chinese greet emperors in ancient times)

HAPPY NEWYEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In a couple of hours

Thanks!

I didn't think a mighty, other-worldy creature like the Balrog
would care about we puny humans and our celebrations!

Well maybe I'm wrong!

Thanks big guy!

:goodjob:

I love seeing people post from around the world as New Year's hits them!

The sun never sets on the Civfanatics Empire!

Happy New Year all - its still 12 hours away here.

Still 14 1/2 hours away here. It's kind of wierd th think that some of you are already in the New Year. I wish all CFCers, both those already in the New Year, and those yet waiting, a year filled with wonder, hope, peace, and joy.

Happy New Year [dance]

Happy new year
