Happyness, or rather said: unhappyness.

Now where did I here that arguement before ...

I don't believe you have; there was dissent to the war you're talking about as can be referenced by the chat log and I did not hear a single voice of dissent to the peace treaties with Germany and China.

Here's what happened from my POV: We had a small informal discussion in the Foreign Affairs office and in a couple of other threads and it was agreed that we should seek peace with the Germans and Chinese. Then our Domestic Leader requested that I sign the peace treaties quickly during an offline session so that he could prepare instructions accordingly for the next turnchat. The Foreign Affairs Leader agreed with the treaties. I obliged them by holding an offline session and signing peace with Germany and China as requested. I apologize to the citizens of Fanatica for not holding proper polls and for not consulting the Trade Leader; I assumed that the people agreed with this change as a general consensus agreed to in the discussions. I will refrain from this type of activity in the future, even if it means that our Leaders will not be able to receive the proper information by the start of the turnchat.

Here's my POV on this issue.

At noon my time, Domestic requested that a special, off-line session be held to "only make peace, and perhaps some trades."

3 and a half hours later, after one(!) person comments on this idea, the session was held.

Making peace with various countries is a pretty significant act. At the very least, this idea should have been specifically mentioned and discussed. Preferrably, an actual poll posted to confirm that this is the will of the people.

Your arguement of time pressure is a poor one though. If the decisions are of such importance, which they are, delay the chat. You have suggested this before - why not do it here? We aren't under any time pressure, except that which we put on ourselves.

I'm done with this issue. I am disappointed over this, Boots.

Well, bootstoots, should we all dig through the term three archives and find all the arguements you made back then to show that the President had done wrong by making a decision on his own about something?

I beleve we should put this whole silly argument in the closet. There is no need to take angust against Boots. Please, lets drop the topic and move on to victory. Honestly, do we want a happy victory or a bitter victory?

All I can say is: I never meant to violate the will of the people on this issue. I saw the beginning of this discussion and the informal discussion in the FA office as signifying that the people had agreed to this by general consent. When the Domestic Leader asked for this to be done, I did it right then and there (relatively speaking), and didn't think a thing about it. In this, I unknowingly committed something similar to what I fought against three months ago. I would just like to state that I did not mean to be hypocritical in this incident. I apologize for this regrettable incident.

Mr. President,

Thank you for recognizing the problem and apologizing for your actions, I respect you for that.

Leader Rik Meleet,

It seems the President plans on the next turn-chat will continue until Japan is ready to talk at which time it will end. What are your plans for the Luxury slider during that time? It would be helpful to know so that we can plan our city laborer assignments.

An interesting development. I seem to be missing out on quite an exciting term.

Please be more careful in the future, Mr. President. ;)

I've posted these instructions: When peace is made the lux slider must be set to 0% and the entertainers back to work. If a city still is not happy, try to solve this with luxuries (if trade dep agrees). Domestic will allow funds for this. The exact details on how much funds will be made available wil depend on buildqueues (wealth), number of requests and amount needed to rush.

So were going for production over happiness?
No, but the loss of production suffered by a Gov-switch is more significant than the effects of the unhappyness. I think unhappyness will nearly disappear when we make peace with Japan and Babylon.

I say so long as wel have good happiness as well as production :D
