Hardest difficulty you have beaten the game on!

can you get me a screen print of the map and opponents. I am very curious how you pulled that off :O

I will officially proclaim you as my master ;)

Er okay give me a bit of time to find which save it, then I'll post some late screenshots when i can. Its just I got man saves as Mansa Musa, and many on emperor, though only one conquest victory, I'm really no that great. I have also lost many games on Emperor, and others I have won have all been time victory, though I don't even count that as a victory, time victory is like the worst victory ever. So only one real victory in probably at least 15 attempts.

custom game, emperror, 18civs hugh map, confucian, cultural victory in 2010AD, 11,xxx point, Churchil.

i play continents standard size maps - win most of my monarch games, get owned by emperor

So far I have only won once. It was on a duel size pangea map with French Empire under Napoleon. I won a domination victory and fished with 11k points. This was on nobel dificulty.

Here you go:

Monarch. Trying to get deeper understanding of game mechanics, more flexibility strategy-wise, and so on before I proceed to the higher levels. I'd rather feel I can win at prince/monarch in almost any situation, and even with a subpar starting location, then to cherry pick starts in emp, imm, deit, and get the occasional cheesy win. Anyone else feel this way?

Got a few more games under my belt, and Im winning very easily on Monarch now. I even started on the south pole on a gigantic tundra, with about 15squares to the first green spot. Anyways, I kicked out the leading Civ (spain) from this green and floodplain-covered paradise (I had only two cities and she had six or seven). In the end I won a Domintaion Victory (HUGE map). I don't have the guts to play on Emperor before I know for certain that the game will not crash in the final years. I tried once, but the game crashed in 1840's something, I was playing Epic, and man what a waste of time. Anybody knows if this problem has been fixed by the latest patches? Will the game crash on Diety as well?

So Montezuma is a pain in the ass? Why not just play as him? He kicks ASS! Spiritual and Militaristic just might be the best combination of traits...

Have beated the AI at prince and Monach both conquest early ages. Setting was No barb, quick game speed and duel map size. Playing Inca and use there heavy advanges in the early military fighting due to Special unit and Military special.

tryed Emperor but then it kicked my as. Damn it grows fast on Emperor. It was at 1000 score point before I got my second ciy.

Anyone know what kind of advanges the computer gets on the higher levels ?

I also set to 'raging barbarians'. Terra map is easy to win Domination victorties by being first to populate 'new world' continent.

Noble is the highest difficulty I have yet tried, I have played 3 games on Noble, 1 GOTM (Roman) where i was destroyed around 1100AD  , 1 game where I technically lost by score in a time victory but had a very strong empire at the end and second place for score (played as the French) :) , and my most recent game where I dominated as the Persians, in size, population, technology, and culture, and won the space race in the year 2004. :D At this time I am enjoying the challenge level at Noble, I probably could battle out a win a level or 2 higher, but I want to get a feel for the game before challenging myself any extra :D
CivIV is the best game ever! (even if 1.52 multiplayer is broke, I'm sure it will be fixed soon :goodjob: )

The highest setting I've beat the game on legitimately (space race on, normal settings, standard or larger maps, normal number of rival civs) is Monarch.

I had an Emporer win by domination on a duel sized map, but I don't consider that a legit win; it's too contrived.

I have a few cultural wins on Emporer with space race off, but that deprives the AI of the only way it knows how to win, so I don't count those either.

Now I'm working on how to beat the AI on Emporer setting, large map, standard speed, standard number of Civs, all victory conditions allowed.

Hi! I've been playing on Warlord, but since I read about your achievements I tried to do so on Noble. And I succeded!
Standard map, won domination in 1660

small world and duel doesnt count if u ask me.

- but then again, u didnt :salute:

Warlord... well I haven't won yet.... but I have the most culture, the biggest military, and I out-tech everyone by about 2 ages... kinda pointless to play, I lost 1 tank... yes... 1.... in my entire fight against the Incans... kinda pointless to continue, not really a challenge, going to try noble now.
