Has anyone seen Bermuda Triangle close enough to land to work the tiles?

Given the enormous 5 science per tile it gives, I wouldn't be surprised if they specifically scripted it to be impossible to actually ever work. But digging through the xml files, I can't find any proof of this. I found (in GranColumbia_Maya_Features.xml) that it seems it is only allowed to spawn on ocean, and is not allowed to be adjacent to coast. But that could still put it in the range of a caostal city or small island etc that only has one tile of coast before it turns into ocean, but there may be additional scripting determining feature placement

So much potential!

Just imagine: a high maintenance (civilian) unit that can be parked on any tile and harvest the yield, be it strategic resources or a juicy natural wonder tile. Just add it to the capital’s yields. Could be a new unit (how to call it?), a hypothetical corporation’s unit, or even an extra explorer’s ability.

I want to weep; we will never get this.

I didn't have it in my own territory but in my first game with the DLC pass I saw it (well, parts of it) within workable range in another civ's territory.

I might get you a screenshot later, but using YnaMP i get 2 cities as Kupe to work half of the Bermuda Triangle. The science number is insane.

On a different question, is the Bermuda Triangle's warp ability actually random or is it a fixed place on the map? cuz i remember 2 units going in there appearing at the same area on separate occasions.

On the Greatest Earth Map from YNAEMP it can be reached and used.

It's fixed. The Bermuda Triangle sends naval units to "the other side of the world". If you think of a non-wrapping map as a cartesian graph, and the Bermuda Triangle is at position (x, y), then all naval units that enter it will be sent to position (x × -1, y × -1). For a wrapping map, vertical movement is the same, but the horizontal movement is equal to half the length of the map.

If the corresponding position on the map is not a water tile, then the unit is sent to the water tile nearest that position instead. Be careful no to get your ships trapped in a lake!

No, no, no. That won't happen. You know, physical laws will always be subordinated to border rules.

FYI, on the livestream itself you can see that, if they founded a city on the highlighted tile, several of the bermuda triangle tiles would be workable.

Lol someone one day will be able to send 2 battleships in the middle of another continent in a lake right next to the enemy capital
It's the Philadelphia Experiment all over again!

Interesting sci-fi flick from the mid '80's.

I've just found it in my game and 2 units entered it a few turns apart and ended up in different places.

Hmm, the one game in which I tried it I got a few boats and land units all taken to the exact same tile. I'm not sure which tile on the triangle I entered, though.
