I'm sick of hearing the same George Bush quote turn after turn after turn. It's pure torture. It's not funny, it's not intelligent, it is just plain annoying. I understand it's a possible joke/jab at Bush...I don't care...I hate it.

Anyway to change it?

Do something (e.g. rename) to the file:

...\Steam\steamapps\common\sid meier's civilization v\assets\Sounds\Speech\English\Tech\TechFutureTech

I've heard that it is a joke/jab at bush too. i don't get it. either way it is annoying.

I think it's annoying purposely. It's a way of telling you every 5 or 6 turns, "Okay, you've already run out of techs but you're still here--time to wrap it up!"

I hate it too....

I laugh everytime I hear it as well, what the hell was bush smoking when he came up with that line?

You have no idea how I hate fake "quote" about "some people not deserving nor liberty nor safety" from Civ4.

"people who would give up a little liberty to gain a little security would deserve neither and lose both"? Why do you hate that? I don't fully agree with it but I don't see why you hate it.

First, this is a misquote. Franklin was a slaver, but even he did not went so far as to claiming that no one deserve nor liberty nor safety. Because as it is worded in Civ4, literally anyone can fit in, with some variation of meanings of "liberty" and "little".
So, this quote is just an excuse for denying people their basic and irrevocable rights. And as it is kind of my pet peeve, I hate it with passion.

Yeah, it's annoying. However, on the grand list of things that annoy me about Civ5, it's pretty far down the list. Rarely do I get to the Future Tech era.

When I do get that far though, I'm usually teching so fast that I get the Future Tech pop-up every 2-4 turns. It's beyond annoying at those times. Why it continues to pop-up after the first one is beyond me. I don't remember other Civ games doing that. Just further evidence that this game was rushed and not playtested.

As for the quote itself, I do prefer the Dan Quayle one. It's just too soon for me to truly laugh at Bush. The scars are still there.
