The alternative online football management game that I have been playing recently instead of footiemanager which has lost my interest since there seems to be a lack of tactical options and the transfer market isn't fluid. Its still free although like footiemanager there is a payment option where you can gain access to a few extra features but they are not game critical.

Hattrick allows a reasonable amount of formations and players can be given certain extra roles. A captain can be chosen, set piece takers assigned and players for each substitution position.

The stadium can be upgraded with my stadium just being expanded for the third time to 20000.

The transfer market works far better as the training system encourages people to sell and buy to make extra cash and once a player is added to the transfer list they cannot be withdrawn and neither can bids so you are not waiting for someone else to be active.

There are 8 teams in each league and you play each team twice which means that there are 14 games in a season and at a game a week, seasons are shorter than FM ones.

Teams and players use user created names or are randomly generated but this doesn't detract from the game.

Hopefully some people from CFC will join and we can get the same kind of participation as in the footiemanager thread. I know at least a few CFC posters play hattrick.

The other benefit is that you can log in even when games are being played so it doesn't suffer from the same problem that I have with FM where I may have to check the site several times during a day before I am allowed to log in.

It might take a little while to get a team since it is the tart of a new season so quite a few extra people may have signed up recently. Post your team ID when you get a team and we can arrange friendlies.

Hattrick is so cool, TF should make a complete subforum for it ;)

    Doubt that will happen... :)

2-2 at halftime, playing away against a team that I was hoping to win agaist but they are an active team so it was always going to be reasonably hard. Hopefully we can take the lead in the second half.

EDIT: My bad on a mistake I made joining.

This looks like fun, and it will do great since I can't join FootieManager due to the fact there were no open free games when I looked.

If you check after a match day on saturday or wednesday night then there should be free places in footiemanager.

Naervod, the US is pretty "pristine" country regarding hattrick. It'd would definately open possibilities if you joined.

For those interested in football games, check the top stats rating for my league. Compare the amount of statistics with the extremily intransparant match engine of footiemanager... all I can say is that hattrick is a winner. The massive amounts of users speak for itself... we're talking in the amount of tens of thousands.

Could we have a link to new teams and your team ID for arranging friendlies in the future?

If I knew one, I'd have provided you with a link :) There's a belgian version that I know of though. England isn't as hattrick crazy as the Netherlands, apparently.

Will challenge you as soon as Hattrick works... You need to accept it for it to be arranged.

Couldn't challenge you to a friendly this week since you were very lucky with the team you inherited and so you are still in the cup.

Won 6-2 on sunday against a team that should be good but is struggling this season. Have a home friendly tonight which will hopefully bring in some extra cash as the stadium was only a quarter full on sunday.
