Edition 4 will begin on 15 December 2004.

Registration will be open in a couple of weeks and will be closed by 7 December 2004.

This is just for information, I will open a discussion thread later on. Until then good luck in your leagues!

Everyone here is welcome to join although there is the minor hassle of registering at another forum but I feel it would be best to do a larger competition for now by joining the CDZ competition and then set up our own smaller friendly cup competition when the new season starts.

Well I've challenged you to a friendly as well since I need a friendly and will play whoever accepts first.

Looks like you have at least one very active team in your division as they have posted:
Welcome to the new league Pugwash FC. The manager of Uppsala was heard to say " It is good to see a new team in place of Brentford. There manager could not even be bothered to turn up for their games so the league is better off without him. Lets hope that Pugwash FC develop into a good side, not by this weekend though hopefully."

in your league table news.

Hello, I've seen Dell's post on CDZ and I'm here to let you know we gladly accept new joiners in the CDZ Cup (may rename it InterSiteHattrickCup :)), you will need to register and follow the topics at CDZ as I don't have the time to post updates on both sites.
Here's the sign-up and discussion thread: http://www.civ3duelzone.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2138
I've also worked on the horribly outdated Who has what team thread that Shabba has linked, now it's up to date.

It is a nice cup and this will be the fourth edition. Also it starts with a league going into a knockout phase so everyone ends up playing roughly the same amount of games.

2-2 at half time against top of the table at home... Although last time I was drawing 2-2 at half timeI ended up losing 6-2.

With some slightly odd half time scores elsewhere. The bottom club is drawing at home to the team in 5th and the team in 6th losing to 7th when I expected the away teams to be winning in both cases.

Same as last time... :(

3-6 the final score with a very late third goal the only difference to the score. Will now be concentrating on training and finding a decent goalkeeper during the rest of the season.

Have a look at the scores in my league:

Ice Bar Unite - Old Babies 0 - 5
Uppsala City - Pugwash FC 7 - 0
Maida Vale Wa - European Vall 2 - 6
meandmer - Anno 1503 6 - 0

The lowest scoring game had 5 goals!

Is this normal?

Anyway, I lost 7-0, but it was against one of the better teams in the league.

Yep its normal. Only when teams are even matched do the scores tend to be more realistic.

No problem...
So, I challenge you again on wednesday or thursday, or just challenge me (can we play in my stadium? the away team has to pay 6000 Euros in an international friendly, if that's too much for you, no problem.)

I think I might join the CDZ cup next time or do you think it pays off with entrance fees if I have to pay 6000 Euros every away game??

yes, I have the same problem : it's quite annoying to have to pay form intl friendly, but I want to play many times to learn quickly. If my finances don't follow, I will change my views...

When I challenge someone, I can choose between home and awy in a Drop-Down-Box.
I already thought about next week, here in Germany the friendlies are on tuesday, so I can normaly challenge someone on wednesday. But I will challenge you on thursday.

With an international friendly, you make much more money than with a normal one, but I don't know if it pays off for the 6000 Euros.

friendlies don't bring in much income anyway. If you join the cup its a good way of sorting out your friendlies for a reasonable length of time so that you don't have to worry about setting up separate friendlies which might be international ones anyway. Also remember half your games should eventually be at home so you wouldn't be paying for travelling expenses.

Currently leading 4-0 after 32 minutes although my reserve team has steadily been improving recently since 3 weeks ago I brought a couple of trainee strikers. Pretty poor attendance though.
