Have Firaxis Abandoned BtS?

GC2.

I agree that Firaxis could provide better support of the online community as well as more frequent patches.

I disagree that direct access to one of the developers is a good idea, though. What I would want is a marketing shlub who will compile feedback and bugs reports, and once weekly has the ear of the development team to present them.

Being a developer myself [subliminal]Buy Kane's Wrath[/subliminal] I have to agree. The programmers would never get anything done if they had to spend their time dealing with the forums (and the general level of hate there - I see John Gabriel's Greater Internet D****** Theory in action in every forum).

I think what people don't realize is that $50 in 1985 is about $100 in today's money. So to me, I'd gladly pay $100 for a game. Reminds me of that weight loss commercial. "Why pay $100-$150 for a video game? Because it works."

Yes, I'd pay $100-$150 for a great game. By the time I purchased the Civ expansion packs, it probably comes out close to that amount anyway.

Same thing for a game like The Sims2. By the time you buy the whole game, you probably pay a couple of hundred dollars or more.

I don't undestand why Firaxis can't make a relatively bug-free game on initial release, though. They've always had problems with bugs. They eventually fix most of them, but it takes quite awhile.

isn't this thread dead yet ? move on.

I've read so much misery from users in this thread. You'd think that Firaxis has harmed you. I've read how some idiots want to sue. Total garbage. Go and complain about the weather, or something usefull like that.

Oh get over yourself Mourn. You make it sound like people are unreasonable in . .. .. .. .. .ing about a product released with glaring errors. Firaxis has caused a lot of users a lot of grief with their slaphappy performance in making BTS run smoothly... And while it's all good and fine to sit there and beat the drums of "Quit 'yer . .. .. .. .. .in!" when you aren't the one getting hooped by such problems, it becomes notably more difficult when you're having to scour the internet for unofficial patches, threads giving advices on various cached files to delete, etc, just to get a decent experience out of a supposedly finished product.

And aside from that, we know that Firaxians visit these forums. Outside of writing Take 2/Firaxis (which some of us have actually done), there really is no more direct way to let them know our grievances.

Also, if you're so concerned with seeing this thread die, don't bump it again just so you can get on your soapbox and tell everyone what idiots they are for posting in it.

this thread is great. You just made my ignore list. Spell M-O-R-O-N with a dictionary. Remember this is a fun game.
