Have you ever played a whole game... WITHOUT RELOADING???

I never reload.

once you touch CivIII, you are hooked. Before I left my last job, I was talking to a buddy of mine and told him to try the game, he would love it. He is a fan of SimCity and plays nothing but, he said he would not be interested....

I met him for lunch a few months later and he was telling me about this great new game his wife picked up for him and he can not stop playing. The game..... you guessed it CIV 3

A few years ago a friend of mine destroyed his civ2 CD to save his marriage. It worked, it seems, and AFAIK he's steered clear of civ3.

As for reloads - very few people admit to reloading, it seems. I wonder if that's because many people here want to do GOTM or MP games, or if the reloaders are a bit shy...

C'mon, folks, don't be shy. When playing on your own, for whatever reasons, reloading is your prerogative.

I rarely reload, but I use the "quickstart" feature constantly. I'd say 75% of my games end by about 2000BC. It's just that I can't stand it when I'm still struggling to get a third city founded and the AI has 4 or 5.

Hhmmm.... Still thinking of a no-reload-for-whatever-reason game...

What about also adding a time limit to the turns -something like chess matches...
