Have you tried the CiV graphics mod for CiVI? What's your take?

I used it for a while, and I think the game looks far better with it on, but I find that the more mods I have on, the more frequently I get crashes, so now I limit my mods to a small core of gameplay changes that I really don't want to play without (like Terra Mirabilis)

In general I prefer more gritty than cartoony; though I appreciate this version of cartoony is stunning! Of course I can appreciate the reasons that the art decisions were made for 6 (making it very easy to see at a glance what districts are in what cities etc) and -as I said above- I haven't tried the Civ5 skin at all. In 7 I hope both with the leaders and the overall art design they can find more of a middle ground between the two; but it's nowhere near the top of my priorities.

I had no idea that it even existed until 5 minutes ago - so cannot yet comment as I only just subbed to it.
I shall check it out later today - one of the issues with Civ6 graphics for me is that they are so 2D and flat.....but IIRC, Civ5 was not all that graphically and I seem to remember I used the Blue Marble overlay (or was that an earlier version - I own all iterations from the original MS-DOS version onwards

That's a rather strange impression since everything is modeled on the map in Civ6 while features like forest were a 2D overlay in Civ5...

I tried it.

I like civ v graphics for civ v. I like civ vi graphics for vi.

I use hillier hills mod though.

I do avoid Environment Skin Civ 5. It makes the game ugly for me personally. I also cannot look at Civ V graphics anymore. It is old. I don't even like Humankind graphics. It's bland. Civ VI has the best graphics! Though, Civ V has very good leaders' animations and screens.

+1 for Hillier Hills! Without it I'm often switching to strategic view for the sole purpose of working out if that is indeed a hill I am looking at or not :hammer2:

If you don't mind all your leaders on Prozac ;)
Except Montezuma. Civ 5 Monty is glorious, whereas 6's take is OTT. But if everyone else is more animated, I suppose some will have to be completely unhinged :mischief:
