Having Issues!!!

I am not a computer guy so I apologize. I tried to install the 3.19 Patch recently and since I haven't been able to open Civ BTS as soon as I hit play it says it has stopped working. I also have attempted to uninstall the game and it won't allow me to do that either saying the the setup.exe stopped working. Any help would be appreciated I don't eve care about the patch I just want to play.

did it work before the patch?
is civ4 working?
is this a cd/dvd version of the game or a download one?

I am running vista, it did work before I tried to install the patch, I don't have my Civ 4 disk with me but will be getting it soon, i have the cd not the download. Thanks for the help!

I was able to uninstall BTS and attempted to reinstall it and now I get this error message...

rename or remove the installshield folder and try again
make sure to run the installer with admin rights (i.e. right click on it an choose run as admin - do not use the autoplay feature).

crc error: the file c:/program files/2kgames/firaxis games/sid merer's civ 4 complete/assets/art/movies/wonders/great lighthouse.bik doesn't match file in the setups.cab file the medium from which you are running the set up may be corrupted contact your software vendor..........................what do i do?

crc errors usually occur with dirty or damaged discs - try cleaning yours with a soft dry cloth

this is a brand new disc i just bought it today

try copying all files from the disc(s) to one folder of the harddrive and then run the installer from there. My guess is that the copying itself will fail with a CRC error: in which case I'd blame a faulty disc production and return it.
