Having problems upgrading units since 1.21...please help

Ok, since I installed this patch I am having problems upgrading my units. Maybe it is something I am doing, but I don't know anymore. I am getting quite fustrated.

As you can see by the screen shot below, my city is getting resources, and is connected to the capital. So, why can I not upgrade my spearman to either a pikeman, or a musketman?

I haven't had that particular problem upgrading but I have had a problem getting a mod upgrade to work. Tried to make swordsman upgrade to musketmen but so far when I'm playing the game it won't work.

Which mods? The only mods I use are graphic mods.

When at the main screen can you select the unit while it is in the city than use the (U)pgrade option?

Just wanted to reemphasize this. You have to upgrade with the unit selected while on the map screen. You can't do it from within the city. Is this the problem?

u have 70 gold in ur treasury.
can'y upgrade the spearman to musketman.

you need 80 gold (20 for spear > pike + 60 pike > musket) to upgrade the unit. You only have 73 gold(i didnt see that when i asked how much you have). So if you wait a few turns you should be able to upgrade, assuming you have a positive income.

Uh oh.

I just Edited a swordsman to be upgradeable to a musketman, and when I returned to the game - it CRASHED.

If Editing units causes crashing, the game is more effed up than before 1.21.

wow, i am stupid!! thanks for catching that. I thought the upgrade was only 60 gold, not 80! ok, well, then I have found no serious issues with this patch then...and I am happy

note to self: stay with republic to get more gold!
