Don't worry it will be a challenge, especially as we would send you alone :p

oh... you were talking about sending me with an army before?

Nice try Mr. Ego. :p

You couldn't defeat Greece by yourself. Now, me on the other hand. :mischief:

Almost to convient, those mercinaries running away like that. One wonders if perhaps they were bribed to deliver the General to the gauls. Not to start pointing fingers of course.

yeah... we should defeat the gauls, all with trustworthy romans

*wakes up*

Woohah. The Croton toga party is finally over!

Time to get serious!

Fellow senators! and generals. Can we have a bit of seriousness here for cesear's sake! And a bit of silence, I have one of these headhaches.

Now now
The gauls are inferior. Do as you wish in the north, I would suggest to take Massillia and Lugdunum first.

Can we start saving up some troops for the southren campains?

I mean Sicily is a much smaller battlefield, we don't even have to take the full island. We deal with Cartage first until we want the whole island.

Why put all our laurels in the same basket?
The gauls only showed-up to be pathetic enemies, we plowed through soft lines and lower end orders from generals. They are weak enough for you generals to take on with a bit less "ressources". Generals are doing a fine job

Let the southern army build-up and get some "training" in Sicily.
It will pay up later when we decide the faith of Carthage.

I Officially ask the senate to accept the opening of a second front in Sicily.
and
Give the southern army more men by taking some new troops destined for the north.

Hey!
when did I pee in my toga?

*Cleric comes to talk to Raisinus's ear*

Stevieus

Jenuensis is already where i'm stationed.... i'd happily give it up for further conquest though :p

Then conquer the rest of Gaul! :hammer:

So much to answer, so little time:

Captain: Possibly. It will depend on whether the Senate decides to continue north. And most Generals are still alive - only Tillus and PrinceScampey have died in battle, and Clericus died of natural causes.
PrinceScamp: Rotana is about to fall under siege, you can see the Roman army in that screenshot. And to keep things simple (for me :p ) your heir will just be named PrinceScampey II, though I'll keep in mind his more merciful nature. And I'm afraid it is no longer your army, it is now in the hands of the Republic and the Senate.
SuperBeaverInc Tsk, threatening to send old men into battle? What has the senate come to?
Nodikus I believe that, after years of persecution by PrinceScampey, the barbarians did this of their own free will as an act of vengeance. However, 'other' generals are getting a bit too warmongering for my liking, I shall have to keep a closer eye on them :mischief:
Raisin Bran The cities in red on that map are our own, so as you can see we've taken the bulk of southern Gaul. Also note that those 'vase' symbols represtent wine supplies. Now, Sicily:

Note that the Greeks are engaged in a major war on Sicily with Carthage. They have sent their best units there, which in theory will leave the main peninsula weakly defended. Taking the Greek part of Sicily will be difficult, although as Romans it will be seen as a good challenge! At some point we need a foothold on the Greek peninsula. Just a thought...

But he wants to go into battle :p :mischief:

The general situation is as follows:

Gaul, and to an extent Iberia is weak, and could be easily taken. However we are already overextended there with only one main base of operations (Massilia). We also have no generals there.

Greece We have two generals (Tillus and Clericus) ready for an assault, and they have massed a medium sized army in a matter of months. A landing site near Appollonia is possible, and if we move fast a foothold will be secured. However further inland the Greeks are pretty powerful, as you can see:

Sicily Once again no Generals, and no troops yet. At the moment though both Carthage and Greece seem to be deadlocked, which suits us fine. A third party landing on the island could completely disrupt the balance, allowing us to take the region. Strong Greek defences prevail, and I do hope noone wishes to take on Carthage just yet?

Or do we...

Is Greece still at war with macedon?

I want to take on everybody :p

I won't rest until the entire world is under the banner of the glorious Roman empire!

A suitably equipped navy could allow for a war with Carthage. No reinforcements however if we decided to attack Carthage I doubt there is nothing from allowing the Greek forces in Sicilia from taking advantage and kicking our ass.

Dude, what troops are those you've got visible? I'm running RTR and I can't recall seeing troops like that? I know the spearmen but what about the others?

There's a very good possibility I'm not actually running the RTR mod, given that the map (on post 2) isn't matching and some people have reported differences, yourself included. I have a habit of winging things.

March through Gaul I say (this motion should be added to page 1)
