Tested it with the Invasion of Japan and Winter War scenarious, and i must say that they have made a lot of improvement compared to the previous one.

I got this game last week and started a grand campaign as Germany. This game is probably Paradox's most polished game to date.
I love the new research system even if it feels like there is slightly less to research. Diplomacy is somewhat similiar to Victoria's system. The only thing I haven't totally figured out is the combat system, particularly the new HQ system of land battles.

In terms of overall stability, how does HoI II compare with the first game?
I've been reading lots of good reviews, but I've put off buying it just yet. Maybe a few patches in and I'll grab it soon.

Meh, if you think HoI2 has an overly complex trading system, than you haven't fully experienced Victoria
Both games are complex, Victoria moreso, but both are fun.
HoI2 is probably paradox's best game to date, and most bug free. Although I still like Victoria more because of the time period..

Mm..I'm actually having troube...I'm USSR on Gotterdammrung, and whenever I capture a country's capital, it changes (the little red circles).

I played it once, except I couldnt get into it as I got into Vicky and HoI2.

great game...EXTREMELY complicated but addictive once you figure it out... Does anyone know where I could get a good patch or mod that changes Germany's flag to the historic Swastika flag?

It's a WW2 strategy game. You pick any country (in the world!) that existed between 1936-1947 and engage in trade, diplomacy, war, research, etc. It's kind of complicated but I've been addicted to it since I figured most of it out a few days ago. And I think it's been out for a while so it sould be pretty cheap...
