Pretty bold statement for a free game. I don't see how something called Hello Kitty Online could not be hilariously entertaining.

The perceived comedic value is much higher than the actual value of the game. Which is not a bad thing, as I love comedy.

I'm pretty sure it's only trolling if you're trying to get a (usually negative) reaction from other people. I enjoy the absurdity. And to be fair, Maplestory was pretty popular, even though it's not manly enough for hardcore, hyper-masculine video game nerds.
