Hello,
may someone give me hints about how to continue this difficult game, at immortal level? Thank you!

On a continent between Shaka and Toku.
Capital with only one food, a cow.
Lot of jungle slowed me down, but I found gems.
No iron or horses near capital, I had to research IW.

Until now I managed to don't be attacked building an army which I used to get two barbarian cities. I didn't find the time to create GPs, but I could start next turn..

See if you can bribe them to fight each other.

Such a long shared border with Shaka and all that commerce, your strategy should be obvious. First beeline Alpha so you can bribe Shaka on toku before he starts plotting on you, and then tech construction and backstab him with cats and swords/axes.

Agree w/ going Construction. Build up an army and see if you can bribe one on the other. If not one should declare on you or the other on their own. Wait until that happens and pick a side. If somehow it is a "peaceful" game still build up and declare on shaka - just make sure he has no techs on toku. In that case after shaka dow check if bribing toku is affordable.

Thanks, I've tried all that but it does not work.

Maybe it's an impossible map.

Not really. Just need to whip a bit hard.

I took a few of Zulu cites and got alpha for peace. in 10 turns, I will take 4 to 5 more cities. 3 cats per city work out pretty well.

When you saw shaka to the west and toko to the east you should immediately have started to plan attacking shaka. 4-5 cities, build axemens while going for construction asap. Worst case senario, archers and catapults, which works too. After shaka either go straight for toko or bulb astronomy go met the others to catch up on teaching (and hopefully get a religion).

Wow, my compliments!!!!!! Great play!

I see that you continue my saving. When i wrote "It don't work" I meant an earlier construction with less cities as other suggested (I tried to play it from the beginning several times, but it gave worse results).
(Anybody is able to setup a better startup from the beginning?)

I tried to play from the beginning several time, changing the second city, and/or looking for an earlier construction. This is what doesn't work, at least for me.

So, I just continued that original saving without fantasy: I researched CoL/CS/Paper/Edu (I had to fight a couple of easy defensive wars) and with gunpowder (french muskeeteers) I was able to get some shaka cities (he is so slow in research..). Now I'm close to Steel but the game maybe is already lost because in the other continent they are much far advanced in tech. I'll continue for fun.

I recommend that you expand first to get a few choice spots first. My second city was on top of the copper. It set me up to expand. I need to play to about 1 AD next.
(Anybody is able to setup a better startup from the beginning?)Yes a decent one.

There is no reason to head to construction. Get the main techs out of the way first and about 7-8 city empire. Oh yeah, let the copper city build a few units.

The most important unit in this game setup is spies and caravels. Place all your esp points on Toku and let him do some teching for you to steal. The reason to use Toku is that he will tech better than Shaka. Then head to caravels and set up you trading.
