Help me decide.....

Not sure. Truth be told I wasn't planning on being around this long because I always seem to be outmatched or outpaced on noble, but this time I'm doing rather well. As such, I didn't plan in the early game for a specific victory, so now I am just running on instinct. I did turn the time condition off (I hated that in Civ II), so it could turn into a long game, though I will have to go after Saladin at some point. He's been way too quiet, never been in a conflict that I know of. He expanded into Genghis' territory after Izzy and Bismark wiped him out.

So after going to war with Mao and wiping out most of his old world empire, I get a bunch of messages that Saladin has completed a great deal of SS parts, and looking at the victory conditions I am shocked to see he only has the engine left, so I get Bismark to go after him and it halts his production on it so I can build the UN but once I get that built it turns into a grudge match because I vote for myself and Bismark votes for himself, but everyone else abstains. So while I was doing my best to get the SS out Saladin wins.

So I reload my save and start immediately on the SS and am able to get Mao and Saladin into a war so their production is slowed. I get everything built except for the engine when I catch a Chinese spy trying to sabotage it. Anyway, I get the engine down to 1 turn to go to finish it so I decide to to build a few more wonders to bump up my score a little. BIG MISTAKE. I would have won the game long before the 2050 AD mark, but I didn't know that you actually lose points if you exceed this point, so I finish the wonders and launch the spaceship only to find out my 5k score turns into 2300.

So I guess I will leave the time victory on from now on and just play on epic or marathon.
