Help me restore the Civ4 modpacks

Yes, I see, that is yours, right https://forums.civfanatics.com/resources/civ4-the-history-of-three-kingdoms.25910 ?
Turns out I can't find the original database entry, if there even was one. In that case you could be very well right. Your download works though :).
It's a mixed bag. Basically it works for some people but for others it sends me an email requesting I approve access. And I can't be expected to constantly be doing that. So if you could reupload it somewhere better please do so.

Okay, I've been cleaning out duplicates and re-assigning some of the links for the spoilers #5-8, which has reduced the links down to somewhere 70-75% of the initial dead links in these spoilers.

@keldath (or anyone else), do you have "History In The Making" somewhere? That would seem to be a high-priority re-upload.

It also seems that some stuff from AtomicGamer is at the internet archive, at least I'm downloading the FutureMod right now from there, let's see if it's valid. If so, then I'll need to go a bit more through the internet archive.
EDIT: I see GreatLordOfPie already mentioned that, sorry for missing this .

I am so glad to see that this dead downloads issue is being worked on! Props for the effort! Has anyone an update on Psyx modern world? I have been trying to get my hands on that mostly for the extra civs

I have copies of the following if you need them. I don't know of a good way to upload them myself.
  • 2100
  • [BTS v.3.19] PSYX's Modern world 4.6 (FULL VERS.)
  • [BtS][UXP] World of Legends v.0.6
    • and the 0.61 patch
  • Mad Legends
Hi , did you get these uploaded somewhere ?
Thank you

:hatsoff: I just replaced the non-working links with new versions from you, thanks :).

Neoteric World is hosted on ModDB: https://www.moddb.com/mods/neoteric-world
FutureMod2B was found "in the Atomic Gamer archive". I'm not sure what @stromling did but it might help to revive some of this lost content.

Provincial Politics: https://www.mediafire.com/file/odlesi3gz947ruw/Provincial_Politics.7z/file
EDIT: one of the mod's authors re-uploaded it here: https://forums.civfanatics.com/resources/provincial-politics-re-upload.25218/
Thought I should post here too since Blake00 poked me asking how I found that. @'s don't send alerts apparently.
Unfortunately that mod was found through dead search engine results and digging from there.
Fortunately there is a way to find others; all the AtomicGamer Archives are named by the date when its contents were originally uploaded.

Now the anti-spam won't let me post any useful links so here is a basic example:
According to the atomicgamer file page in the wayback machine [BTS 3.17]19th and 20th Century mod 1.2 (files/78352) was uploaded on 5/25/2009 which means it's in AtomicGamer Archive 090525.
If the archive for a date doesn't exist look for an earlier date, such as the last modified date in the parent directory.
Not every file page is archived (the one for Future Mod isn't) but as long as you can get a rough date you can go for there, such as the date on the Future Mod 2B release post which matches the archive it's in.

And I'm so glad I lured you back as this is going to help a LOT! I've got a bunch of lost Civ 3 and 4 scenarios that were not part of the Atomic Gamer CFC backup due to being personal uploads on their site instead.. I and others have been trying to figure out how to search for download codes in the MASSIVE backup collection for years and hadn't had any luck!
https://archive.org/details/atomicgamer

The codes in the archive names and the download codes were 2 different things and I couldn't work out a connection as I had not realised that the searchable codes on the archives were actually shortened reversed dates!

Stromling already explained this to me over PM but since he can't post links I'll stick these step by step examples here for others so we can spread the word and solve a lot of problems across this site (mostly in the civ3 & 4 forums). Basically if we put any broken atomic gamer download into web archive we can hopefully see the extra info we need..

Example 1 - the missing Civ4 Age of Discovery Mod (no not Dale's, this is another one) I was trying to find yesterday:
https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/age-of-discovery.415830/
I put it's dead download into webarchive and find this backup:
https://web.archive.org/web/20130531074316/http://www.atomicgamer.com/files/90780/age-of-discovery
From this link I can see the download code of 90780 and the page tells me the file name, it's size, and the date it was uploaded to Atomic gamer:
AgeOfDiscovery.7z - 32.7 MB - 03/19/2011 (19/03/2011 outside of America)
That date means it should be in the 110319 archive or archive days close to that. So I search for that number in the collection and up it comes:
https://archive.org/details/AtomicGamer_110319
I click show all files:
https://archive.org/download/AtomicGamer_110319
I click view contents on the main tar file:
https://ia801306.us.archive.org/vie...ems/AtomicGamer_110319/AtomicGamer_110319.tar
And bingo.. there's a archive with the download code 90780 and it's a similar size! :) Filename is not there sadly so ya gotta download, check if its the right file and then rename to it's old name.

Example 2 - the missing Civ 3 Star Trek mod bonus music files I've been trying to find for 2 friggin years (link briefly mentioned in the description text)
https://forums.civfanatics.com/resources/star-trek-mod-v-0-9-0-beta-7z.16249/
I put it's dead download link into webarchive and it FAILED:
https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.atomicgamer.com/file.php?id=86966
However I can see the failed link is in an old format (file php id) compared to the discovery one above (files/xxxxx/) which had the download code in some slashes, so I try the 86966 code in that format with a * on the end which will show all pages listed under that download code that were hopefully backed up.
https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.atomicgamer.com/files/86966/*
Bingo!
https://web.archive.org/web/20120617234339/http://www.atomicgamer.com:80/files/86966/mussfx_civ3stm
From this link I can see the download code of 86966 and the page tells me the file name, it's size, and the date it was uploaded to Atomic gamer:
Sounds.zip - 724.3 MB - 07/03/2010 (03/07/2010 outside of America)
That date means it should be in the 100703 archive or archive days close to that. So I search for that number in the collection and up it comes:
https://archive.org/details/AtomicGamer_100703
I click show all files:
https://archive.org/download/AtomicGamer_100703
I click view contents on the main tar file:
https://ia801300.us.archive.org/vie...ems/AtomicGamer_100703/AtomicGamer_100703.tar
And bingo.. there's a archive with the download code 86966 and it's a similar size! :) Filename is not there sadly so ya gotta download, check if its the right file and then rename to it's old name.

Sometimes there won't be a web archive backup of the old atomic gamer download page but as you can see above it could just be a matter of the old format atomic download link needing to be adjusted to their final one, and if all that fails then Stromling points out that you can usually work out the date of upload by the day it was posted on the CFC forums, sometimes file names and sizes are mentioned in the posts too.

Yup this is BIG deal for me so I just had to drop everything at work and try some examples! I see so many atomic links with download codes in your OP that can be fed into these steps so this is a brilliant moment!!! :)

Also it's not just missing mods I wanna put through these steps, as I've also rescued a whole bunch of Civ3 mods over the last couple of years from private collectors but now using this I can go get the authors original file and compare it to the one I rescue to see which is better or not tampered with!

What funny is I'd missed most of this thread including GreatLordOfPie's post and actually separately contacted Stromling on my own yesterday purely because I came across his old post in the civ4 future mod thread (which I accidentally found after looking at some old Civ3 work the same mod author did). Had I clicked the watch button on this thread after you tagged me months ago it would have saved me some time haha but oh well since we both separately wanted the same thing we've now ended up back in the same place thankfully lol.

the Babylon5 mod (although I don*t know if it's the one for FF or for FF+...).
I helped out the author on the Babylon 5 Civ4 project with hosting and a bit of marketing. It's hard to remember but yeah while I was able to get him to fix his forum thread post I think I failed to get him to fix his download page here and he didn't seem to want to bother to redirect it to the newer downloads. You can find the latest and final version of the mod on either of these 2 sites I help him run should you wish to change the download link to them or take a copy for CFC.
