Help on Immortal -Washington - American

Well why prepare for war gainst HC? Open borders so he can spread his hindu to you and share religion. I think he is not that bloodthirsty as some else.
I would be more worried of Boudi, she likes to form runnaway empires from my experience.

the land is perfect for running SE.

I would probably start the aesth line, maybe you should get poly if you fear you will run out of builds too soon for some fail gold on ToA (even without marble... it's still at least 1:1 conversion aka building wealth with delayed effect)

Expand more to the north and east, still lots of room there but it won't be there forever. Libraries can wait. Even se of pig may still be possible starting a culture fight for pig. Definitely risky now with HC having terraces. Pity you weren't there first.

A great spy isn't so bad, i don't think you can run scientists now, costs too much on expansion.
Slider to 0% after myst accumulating gold till that time you do get libraries up.

I wouldn't go to war at this point with so much land still available through peaceful expansion.

I' don't think you need to go to war immediately because you have some good land for running specialists with representation. The 2 fish/corn site is awesome for GP because it can run 6 scientists at size 9 and has the production to build the GL and NE in reasonable times. North East looks like empty land too so war expansions really isn't needed here, plus you only have swords+cats and the only medieval warring for these levels is typically cataphant.

Okay options going forward. For now we will skip the war option.

Aesthetic route seems good.

I will rex out to 5th city for the lakes/corn and copper.

Explore north/west.

City builds.

Coastal city will build/whip 2 workboats/ granary. (monument - edit) (Long term NE/ GP farm)

New york can pumps 1 more workers/settler?

Washington can build granary/library/ more settlers. At what point do I let this city grow? I want to run 1 scientist to grab a GE/GS instead of a great spy. (This is important!)

The northern city can work on granary to help growth.

Will consider trades with Celts and gifting stone.

Good heads up Dirk. updated the plan.

I will play some more today but will wait a bit for more comments.

Great Spy is not as bad as you make it out to be. You can use an infiltration mission on Boudica or HC and get a lot of techs from them through espionage. If you are worried you won't get enough Great Scientists for lib remember you are in rep with the fish/corn city.

I was more thinking getting the GE vs Gspy. Prob for GE would be 60-70%. An academy wouldn't hurt at this stage.

Oh captain my captain!

Great expansion GB, those are some perfectly placed cities, although the resources basically placed them for you, dual fish + corn yummy! I'd definately say that you got the library up a bit late. I know it's really hard when you've got all the workers, settlers and monuments to spam but you'll often see the high level players getting their first GS around this time without losing too much in the rex. I find that the better I get at my micro, especially whipping, the earlier I can get the library up. Obviously it's doubly important with the Mids, although you lost a lot of chopping potential so it's understandable. Also, don't be afraid to whip new york down to size 2 every time it gets to size 4, it doesn't have too much to grow into and this'll help you get some all important workers/ settlers out.

Personally, with so many good sites easily available, war at this point doesn't look overly necessary unless you're really afraid that Huayna might get out of check. Expanding to ten cities should be more than enough to win you the game. You're probably better off expanding north until you block huayna off, then east/southeast to block boudi (the jungle should slow her down still). After that it's just backfill, you've got good land and the mids, so no need for cottages either! CS is going to have extra importance this game, it'll let you irrigate 3 of your corns!

@ Bobby - The slower rex and building of mids have slowed the library production.

Trouble with great spys is I don't want to use spies in Celts land in case she declares. Unit pumping babe I don't want to mess with.

Okay I changed build order in coast city as the city will not use fish till border pop.

Capital is now working a scientist specialist. Should pop a GE I hope for great Lib! Perhaps I should be growing the city instead.

I am 50/50 on new copper/ corn site to East. Do i include the lakes for inland lakes? Or Place it on the plains river 3 east of NY. Need a decision here really. Part of me says the river for the silk as NY is already cramped in but the inland lakes provide 3 food each with light house. I assume I can build a light house without a coastal city?

Overall whipped a settler in NY

Whipped library in Washington.

With 4 cities my economy is starting to die away. Need to be careful before crash. I do have writing so I should be able to use specialists to fix it.

I don't think you can build a lighthouse in cities with inland lakes. grrrr.

I am thinking of settling 1W of where the settler is on grassland forest is so the copper / corn are in initial 9 tile city area. Settling near the inland lake gains no food. The city can use the farmed grassland in NY city area.

Settling on plains river may be good for cottages on the plains but the city will not be able to work the lower grassland river tiles. I don't want to lose the corn.

Is my logic sensible?

Yes, that's right. Plus you'll also have base production on the whip turn (min 1hpt from city tile, likely more). One thing to note is that you can't OF more base hammers than the whipped item is worth.

No, you can only get 29 base hammers in whip OF. Multipliers are applied when you invest base hammers into the build which is multiplied.

Whipping from 4 to 2 is the best, because:
a) Let's you consistently stay under happy cap.
b) Each pop point costs more to grow, so whips are most efficient at low pop.

So put one turn into wonder, switch quene up, then micro to get 2 pop whip, and you then get the forge + or multipliers? But there has to be the one turn invested correct?

You don't need any turns invested in the wonder to put the over flow into the wonder.

So you 2 pop whip settler after investing 69 hammers for 29h base overflow+ production.

So if you put this into a wonder like stonehenge when you have stone connected you would have a min hammers of 58 put into Stone henge next turn.

Essentially you can keep using overflow from whipping to build a wonder in a city that is hammer poor but food rich.

Oh dear a certain Celtic Lady has hit the red thumb status. WHEOOHRN!

I am not her worst enemy but given I am closest to her I most consider myself the most logical target?

Do I prep some axes for defence?? Or ignore the threat. I am 0.3 compared to her power rating and the incas are 0.4. Unless she has met another AI. Doubtful.

Time for a few axes. Not sure how long till the attack. I know she has axes.

Hmm ouch, was hoping that wouldn't happen with early open borders and gifting goodies like the stone.
But yip you are her target with at least 75% prob.

Best start pumping out 3-4 axes.

If there's no ai to the south you're target. Gifting stone helps relations eventually but only when the "years supplied with resources" bonus kicks in. Be ready to whip a wall in cities she approaches.Whip some axes but after barracks, also send some reccon south to see when she's coming.
