I made my own custom map for conquests in Civ III Conquest Editor, and it doesn't work when I click on it in my conquests menu. It loads to abou 40% and says : File not found: # Game Will Now Exit.

What is happening? Can someone help? I added two new civilizations to Age of Discovery and made the save called 'Age of Discovery Extra'.

(This is my first post so please be kind if I'm being nooby :crazyeye: )

The file not found should give the name of the missing item. One of the most common is that a structure or unit was defined, but not fully added. You see this when add units downloaded. Without the full text of the msg it is hard to say.

I would post in the creation forum as the experts are there.

Thanks! :goodjob:

You may also consider asking on the technical help forums. I'm no technical wiz, but one of the things that comes to mind is the Windows 7 "User Account Control" which will store files in virtual hidden folders that you and/or your programs cannot find later (because the paths are not where you put them and Windows hides the folders from you). I've had and solved that problem before with another game, but I don't remember the specifics, you'd need better technical help to figure out if that's the problem and to get steps to fix it.

You would need the full text of the msg to know, but it is going to be a missing entry in the pedia.txt or one of the art file most likely. It could be as simple as a finger checked spelling or a flat out missing one.

Sometimes custom maps rely on items from the old PTW that are no longer in the C3C set. It could be that the heirarchy of folders is incorrect so the search fails. It could be an install that is corrupt, just no way to tell with the info at hand.
