Guys, where should i place my city playing Osman Mehmed with 2 health bonus on a city? I should go one tile up from fresh water source to take 4 sea resources or place my city on recommended spot?

I THINK I would go for the 4 food. Building a workboat first is great as you can grow, food is king particularly in the early game and there may be more bonuses.

In place probably kills the northern fish (i.e. no way to claim it anymore). I think both SIP (=settle in place) and 1N are reasonable, but I would go 2S. Seafood is weaker than land food, because improving seafood has a 30 fixed cost. A worker can improve indefinite number of tiles.

My choice might be different if the leader started with fishing.

You totally can. You lose the bonus of the improved resource, but you get the resource straight away and it cannot be pillaged.

Sugar is an excellent tile to settle on, because the city center gets an extra . River luxuries like dye is good to settle on too, due to city center gaining an extra (two with FIN!).

Yup, when your siege unit(s) are selected you will find a bombard action button

I have a bias against seafood because of two words: barbarian galleys.

The -16% means reduce the city’s defenses by 16 percentage points.

I dont know why exactly do you need that, but I am playing Beyond the sword with this mod
